I know that CSC are meant to be working on June filers right now and VSC April filers,  but looking at the visa journey processing times taken from timelines of ROC, it seems not only has CSC not moved in months it has actually gone back working on March 2016 filers?  Or am I misunderstanding this are they working on March 2017 filers?  Wouldn't it be nice to see both service centres/centers take around 6 months.   If not then in the mean time at least they are entertaining us with their processing times and going backwards, first time Ive seen that!

Keep in mind that the "processing times" listed on VisaJourney are based on which people are actively updating their timelines. (Which you can access from the left column beside your posts or by going into your profile). If someone from March finally got approved (interview? RFE? Security checks?) and updated their timeline, while others are not updating their timeline at all (which seems to be common in the ROC forum) then the processing times listed on VisaJourney will be less accurate.

That said, there hasn't been much forward progress on ROCs from CSC in the last few months. Which is frustrating. Probably this March 2016 filer was finally approved and excitedly updated their timeline, and in the absence of much current action, the algorithm for the website picked up the early date.

Just goes to show, we've got to keep our timelines updated!

I am not sure what's the logic VJ uses to calculate these averages, this was happening in the past too. It sometimes moves to a date that was before the most current date; hence feels like things are moving backwards. Best way to check where a service center stands is to use the monthly threads, outliers would always will be there; usually military filings but it happens to regular cases too, therefore don't rely on a single approval from a month but once there are a few approvals/rfes (say 4 or 5) from a particular month, it is an indicator that they've started processing cases from that month.

I know its a pity people don't update their timelines, so an accurate processing time can be recorded on VJ. However, I do admit that when I come to change my timeline normally every year or couple of years, i find it very hard to change the column to my left hand side, I always forget where that is situated. I assume by  filling in my timeline the left hand column will adjust to reflect that but it doesn't and I also forget where my signature is to up date that.

I saw that too.  CA went from late June/early July back to March -- how frustrating.  But at least he's here in the US and we're not waiting apart for this approval.

I can only assume that there have been approvals from March or earlier that have taken a precedence over June filers, which is only fair seeing as March is way over a years wait.  I don't understand why CA has gone so retrograde because looking at timelines from a year or so ago it was only taking around 5 months for them and Vermont were WAY behind!

You are already in one. (February 2017 thread). For instance use the timeline tables posted on the May/June/July 2016 threads for the most current updates.

Some months are better than the others, meaning, people do a good job updating the table once they receive a notice. Unfortunately you can't get away with lazy VJers who excitedly add their names to these tables and never come back to update their cases, usually the biometrics dates are the last time you'd hear back from these folks. Sometimes the updates get lost in the threads too, people get an update, ask others to update the timeline for them, but no one does. These are unfortunately inevitable.

Aww got you. I do look at them almost daily and Ive no idea why I do that when I know I have months too wait. Probably looking for a sign that things are moving or someone has had some good luck/news.

You still have a long wait. Don't do it everyday, do maybe once a month. Sometimes even seeing a few updates means nothing. When VSC first started slowing down it was around September 2015, they started processing cases from March 2015 right around that time. I was really really excited when I saw a few of the March cases were approved. Being a May 2015 filer, I was hoping to be approved around November or so. Freaking VSC took 4 months to finish up March cases, then another 2 months for April 2015 cases and they finally got going with May cases around February 2016, my case was later approved end of March 2016. I think daily checks become hard to resist once they start processing your month, but before then once a  month would give you good idea where they are.

I guess I do it not because I think my case will be reviewed any time soon but just interested in people's cases and to help with queries I might be able to help them with, like losing a green card or getting it stolen. Im an expert in that area, having been through both and having to jump hurdles to sort the mess out.

I have seen the back and forth timing status as well, and of course as already stated this is based on the sporadic information from the VJ member timelines.  I have been periodically checking the USCIS status which you can find at the link.  I am more interested in CSC as that is where our application is located, but you can search VSC as well.

Good Luck to everyone still waiting.
