She's not here yet, but, we're planning on going to either Niagara Falls or Disney World.

Good choices CM, I posted disney world in another thread and got hammered by people giving their opinions that it isn't "romantic". Ever notice how some people posts their opinions like they are facts?

Anyone who has ever seen some of the unbelievable hotels they have there, like the "Grand Floridian", or the "Yacht and Beach Club".................wouldn't be saying that.

I didn't spend a honeymoon there, but living in Florida for many years, I have been to that area many times, and have seen some of those luxurious hotels firsthand. I can not imagine a wife or fiancee' etc.........who would EVER be disappointed with the idea of spending a few nights at the "Grand Floridian" or just about any other hotel on that property.

And even if you didn't stay ON property, there is still so much to see and do around there.

And as far as "adult" entertainment, I've taken my own wife to the Boardwalk a few times, and if fact, even took her parents there when they visited from Turkey, their first time ever in America, to the "ESPN Club" . (Her parents got a kick out of seeing all those TV's.......and they were especially humored and impressed by those little TV's they have in toilet stalls showing sporting events. They don't have anything like THAT in Turkey ;) )

It's a really beautiful area and atmosphere......

I think most people when they hear the word 'Disney World", picture things like "Cinderella's Castle"......and all the rides and kids there, but there's much more to Disney these days than just that.

Including places like "Pleasure Island", which is the more "adult oriented" area.........with restaurants and clubs, and a large multiplex movie theater.

I think it's all a matter of taste.

A lot of people might suggest something like Las Vegas..............and to me and my wife, who think going to a casino or seeing "stage shows" would be a total bore and a drag, that would be one of the LAST places we'd want to go to.

Personally, when my wife finally gets her visa, we are planning to go back to Turkey again next year, in the summer, and then this time while we are there, go directly from Istanbul.........to either Germany (by train)or Greece (by ship). And maybe, if we are lucky, we can make it to both. :)

I suppose we will consider THAT, our second honeymoon.

Living in Western civilization, people would think romantic in terms of surreal, quiet, and cozy scenery. But, for Cambodians we don't really care about romanticism as much since it's not all about sex. We just want to have fun, who cares if kids are around!

Actually, when/if one day you do go to the Disney area and see the "Boardwalk"..............that area IS surreal,(with the views of the hotels the "Swan" with their big statues on top of the building, and the "Yacht and Beach Club" across the bay)....quiet (there is a bay with waterspouts etc...which actually makes it pretty peaceful and tranquil).......cozy(okay...don't know about this one :P )...

But it IS fun.

I don't go to the actual "Magic Kingdom" area any more........we usually hang out at the Boardwalk or Pleasure Island areas when we do go......

I think if you do go there one day as you wrote in your post, you'll enjoy it. That place has REALLY grown and developed in the last 10-20 years.

It's much different than it first used to be, when it was all just "kid" oriented.......and has a lot more now, for us "adults" to do. ;)

My husband and I were just talking about Disney and Niagara last night. Disney is one of the places he'd really like to go. My sons haven't been there yet so I'm sure we'll be planning a trip there in the future. Not as a second honeymoon though.

Hmmm a second honeymoon...maybe Vegas. I know it's not romantic but it's fun!

We've had our "honeymoon" - before the wedding. My fiance's interview was in Rio de Janeiro on a Tuesday, so we met a few days before and stayed a few days after to go to the medical exam, be interviewed, pick up the visa. Maybe most importantly - to be together (after 8 months apart) in Rio de Janeiro

Rio is a BEAUTIFUL city and very romantic and we had an AMAZING time. Now we can't afford a honeymoon, so we lived up the 9 days we had in Rio last month....knowing we wouldn't be able to later on.

Same here, we considered our honeymoon the week we spent in Rio (interview week)

Guess what Jen, Moroccans do not need visas to go to Brazil. (Forgot to mention it.) Brazil only requires visas as retaliation toward countries who require Brazilians to get tourist visas.

Our honeymoon was planned in terms of quiet and privacy, but not for the reason you listed. We happen to enjoy just being together and talking, planning, holding each other, that sort of thing.

We also planned for activities too. We'd love to go on a second honeymoon whenever he gets his green card. One place we both like is Turks and Caicos. We've mentioned Iceland. Just depends on finances at the time. :)

oiiiiiii what GREAT news!!!!!! :D And I already have my Brazilian visa so we're all set! Now I just gotta get my fiance here to begin with............................. ;)

my favorite place? well.... there's more than one for sure. (and more than I can remember without looking in my travel logs) I hope he and I can get a month to do a real honeymoon together. I really loved Morro de Sao Paulo. Rio de Janeiro. Itacare (and all those beaches around there) hmm what else. And the fine dining in Sao Paulo (although Sao Paulo itself wasn't so great. I only went there to eat at D.O.M.)

I also want to go to the Amazon next time... and see more of the north and interior that I missed last time.

I LOVE BRAZIL!!!!!! :D
