I-130 USC alien relative

Hello,

I am a USC and I sent my I-130 to the Nebraska service center in April, I got the NOA1 after two weeks. I am still waiting for the second one (to know whether it's denied or approved) after two months . I couldn't find anything for April, if there's someone in the same boat as me, please let me know.

it can take a while for petitions to be approved, i submitted mine December 7 and it was approved April 16th about 4 months. Between 2-6 Months it should be accepted because there's thousands of cases being processed.

Two months is nothing. It usually takes at least up to four months and can take even longer. If you fill in your timeline, you will get estimated NOA2 dates based on your NOA1 and the service center processing your petition.

It is normal to be worried and stressed, but you are still well within normal procesing times.  Keep in mind that from filing to interview, it currently takes 12-14 months so you have some time to go.

It's always helpful in communication here to be as accurate as possible.  I take it you filed the petition by mailing it to either Chicago or Phoenix, and it was sent to Nebraska Service Center.  You did not file it with the service center directly.  Nowadays, 4 months would be fast petition approval for an I-130.  5 - 7 months has been normal for about three years, but I'm seeing a few approved in 4 months from time to time.  

 

Now is the time to start preparing for the next phase of the process, so you know what to do AFTER the petition is approved.

We were just approved on May 24, 2017, PD November 1, 2016. Almost 7 months for approval. Our case was also at Nebraska.
