Hi all,

I have a couple of questions and hope someone could answer them. I am a nervous wreck at this point and just looking for suggestions, help, etc.

I mailed my I-751 petition to CSC and it was received on 5/11/2017. I have a daughter and she is listed on my I-751 as a dependent. I never received the NOA1 for myself or my daughter, but last Thursday 6/1, I received the biometrics appointment letter for my daughter. I did NOT receive one for me. So, up until this point, I have received only one (1) biometrics appointment letter for my daughter and nothing else.

On my daughter's biometrics letter, there is a WAC-XXXXXXX number and it is the only number on the letter. I have read on this forum that there should be 2 numbers on the biometric letter but hers has only 1. Why is that? Could someone with a dependent please confirm if your dependent's biometrics letter contains 1 or 2 numbers?

I called USCIS and they escalated my call to a Tier-2 officer, who called me back after 3 hours. He explained that since my daughter is only 10, she does not need to have her fingerprint taken and that CSC has made a mistake: The biometrics letter should have been for me (???) He instructed me to go to the local ASC and ask that they fingerprint me. Well, that did not work because we went there today and they refused to do anything unless I have a biometrics letter. I explained to the immigration officer at the ASC what I was told and she looked at my daughter's biometrics letter and said that the bio letter is correct (for a dependent) because one of the fields has a Code 2 in it. She did look at my file on her system and told me that I might not need any biometrics taken because the last one that I took (in 2015 for my conditional Green Card) might be good enough and the adjudication officer may or may not need a new set of fingerprint. Now that confuses the heck out of me since almost every single filer on this forum has received biometrics letter.

Please help!

My wife (petitioner) and her two daughters (my step daughters) each received a I-797C, ASC Appointment Notice (from VSC, on 25 May).  Although my wife's I-797C has two EAC numbers (one being the EAC number from her I-797 Receipt or NOA1), the two daughters' I-797C's only have one EAC number shown on the form.  So, you daughter's biometrics letter seems to be normal.

Incidentally, our 13-year old's form shows a Code 2 also.  My wife and our 15-year old's forms show a Code 3.  (I have no idea what these codes mean.)

All were photographed.  My wife had all ten fingers printed, the two teens only had their index finger printed.

I noticed that our two teen daughters’ I-797C forms, in the CASE TYPE section shows, “CR189 – APPROVED REMOVAL OF CONDITIONS (189).”  So, we are taking this as a good sign; and that there will not be a need to provide additional evidence.  My wife's (petitioner's) I-797C does not have this approval annotation; but, we know that she is required to go through the FBI Background Check before being approved.

Good luck!!!
