Hello everyone,

Originally I posted in the May filers thread, thinking we belong there. But now, I think that, since our NOA1 was June 6th, we probably belong here.

I am feeling a little dispirited today. We're down to the last month of waiting for the NOA2, making a total of 6 months, if not more. And then probably another two or three until the interview, by the looks of things.

We are all in the same boat, with likely twice the timeline we all thought we were looking at when we filed our I-129Fs.

In addition, I was looking at the digital copies I have of our I-129F and the G325 that we sent off with our package. And I noticed two typos/discrepancies between the information we filled out on those documents. Why didn't I see them before?  I don't know :( They're small but unless the adjudicator allows us to remedy these at the embassy, then we'll likely get a RFE, adding a few weeks onto this already excruciating process.

Well...such is life I suppose. We've got to keep paddling our little boats and hoping for the best.

Best of luck to all.

:)

Hang in there! At least you’re not alone in this...Are you or your fiancé Canadian also?

Keep the faith. If anything this test will be a great indication to the CO how deep our love runs. Today is exactly one month past the date of our original estimate. We still are

looking at another month. All I know is that sometime soon I will be with Rose, AJ and Aira. Nothing else matters.

Thank-you so much for your kind encouragement. I've seen a few of your posts and you seem like such a dear person!!

I"m so sorry for your lengthy wait. It must be that much more difficult for you, being so far away from your loved ones. And probably expensive to visit. But I'm glad you will be getting to see them in December!

You deserve every happiness. Godspeed to you and yours :)

if you sign up for an account with your WAC number, you can go in to make typographical error's. You can correct it this way and avoid the RFE hopefully🙂

Did you fill out the old I129F that was valid till July-ish (not sure what month), or the newer one that pretty much incorporated the G325A? If the latter case, you didn't need to add the G325A. My fiance and I still did though as my package was already on its way to him with half the documents when I found out the new I129F form had come out. Technically we could have done with the old form, but decided to do the new one just in case, and just added the already filled out G325A anyway :)

I thought I’d log in as I get all the alerts but haven’t actually been on for a while after a turbulent month.

I filed late June and it was received July 3rd so I was fully expecting to wait until late Oct/Nov for NOA2 and save myself all the clock watching until then. I’m in no huge rush as my goal is to move around Easter and marry around May so I can concentrate on getting myself in the strongest position I can with my savings.

That was going well until I lost my job 3 weeks ago but hoping my position in terms of the K1 is irrelevant as my partner had had to submit his financials to sponsor me even though my plan is not to put any expectations on him. I filled out all my employment history but I’m not sure if I need to notify anyone that I’m out of work?

Any advice on if I need to update my employment status would be appreciated.

I might even push my timeline back a bit if I have to spend my savings tomweather this blip!

I hope everyone else is doing ok and making the most of this time with their families before they make the big move! X

If the best things in life are free, why is a long distance relationship so expensive!?

Oh! This is fantastic, I did not know this was an option!!  I'll talk to my fiance and we'll probably give that at try.  Thanks so much!  :)

Good question...I just looked at the digital copy, it says Form I-129F 04/10/17 N, expires 08/31/2018.  We probably assumed that was the latest version and didn't think to look any further.

The typos are so minor and so obviously an oversight, we were hoping they'd notice that and allow us to correct them at the embassy, as I have heard happens from time to time.   Especially considering that everything else about our petition is quite straightforward. In fact I'd say our petition is going to be one of the more boring ones they'll be looking at probably, which I imagine is a good thing? :P

Meanwhile, we can try to address the typos as the poster quoted above yourself suggested as well.

Thank you for your help and support, it's much appreciated! :)

Hi Bandt,  please may we know how long it took and for you found it was denied? Did they ever request for supporting document? Has your online status ever changed during the whole process. Sorry we have so many questions.

It took about a week.  If you make an account with uscis it should show you updates when you log in. I was also emailed an update. I was never asked for supporting documents.

Hi there!

I’ve been following this forum for few weeks now, we’re on day 90 from NOA1 expecting  NOA2 sooner than later just like all of you in this site. Keeping myself and Fiancé positive through this tough process though.

I do have a question for those who have a similar situation. I am divorced from my previous spouse, I had an open I-130 case with USCIS while I was married, we got to the point where our case got sent to NVC but I never sent or call them to continue with the case, after a year NVC sent me a letter , saying that if I was interested to continue with this case I needed to contact them. I thought that these cases were automatically closed after certain time.

Now, I’m trying to contact NVC to let them know that I’m no longer married with this guy and I actually sent them my divorce decree along with a withdrawal letter.

You guys think that this case would affect my current I-129f case with my fiancé?

You won't have to update anything as it was relevant at the time of filing and as you already said, they are only interested in the USC finances at the interview.

Good luck with finding something else soon! :)

My fiancé (who is the non-US resident of the two of us) is in a similar situation, being unexpectedly out of work during the process, whereas he was employed at the top of our process. He's had the same concerns and is fine, with savings and pension, but it has been worrisome. The consensus we've gotten in researching that, is that they seem to be more concerned about the US fiancé's finances anyway, and proof of financial support is still probably relevant regardless if the non-US fiancé is currently employed or not. We were already planning on me completing an Affidavit of Support and providing all the usual financial documents (W2s, bank statements, etc.), but definitely more so now. My advice would be for the US-based fiancé to just provide everything they can, finance wise, and possibly complete an Affidavit of Support as well. It basically says the US citizen is claiming financial sponsorship/coverage of the non-US citizen so they won't become a financial burden of the state by coming here.

Håll ut, y'all.

Thanks for the reply, i probably have more savings than he has so thankfully being outnof work is not too bad short term but I need to find something for the next few months as I am really strict that I want to save month every month for my move.

I cant see NOA2 coming until late November/December so we’ve already submitted the forms with his income and he’s in a good secure job. All his money goes on travelling to see me so the hope is when we’re in one location together we can both save up even more for a home and a car.

If the best things in life are free, why is a long distance relationship so expensive!?
