If you are inquiring as to my intent, I was not attempting to start a political discussion. John's analysis is correct. The intent of my comment was to point out our lack of thoughtfulness. We were all surprised by the long immigration waits this year. My point was that we should not have been. We should have been prepared. As John said, whether right or wrong, immigration played into the victorious party's platform and very heavily into their candidate's messaging. Therefore, it should have been a no-brainer that immigration would be impacted, but we didn't "think it through". When timelines got really long, we were all like "what is going on?".

So, to re-iterate, there was substantial data available for us to expect an impact of some kind (most likely resulting in longer timelines)--but we did not. We were surprised by what I would argue was the inevitable, so bad on us for unrealistic expectations. As is often said, elections have consequences--some good, some bad, and some good and bad for specific groups of people. But they always have consequences. We should have been able to predict this consequence.

That was my point.

Very nicely said.  I do apologize for getting involved in the discussion but I never felt there was any type of political statement other than we should have anticipated some changes.  I don't want to argue right or wrong since that will never impact where we are in the process.  Having been just a little smarter, we could have filed in April.  Instead I waited until June and that is why we won't be together for Christmas.

Our political leanings have nothing to do with our situation.  We are all here and all the Administrations (past and present) have an impact on our current situation.

Hello everyone. I haven't posted in a while.  Just as an update my expedite was denied. I got an email about a week after I applied for it saying that "Although my situation was serious, it didn't qualify for an expedite." I did go to Moldova to spend some time with my fiancee, so that helped a bit. I hope everyone is concentrating on their future spouse and preparing for their future life together as much as possible instead of agonizing over the wait.  Best of luck to everyone.

Just outta curiosity, on what basis were you requesting an expedite ?

My brother passed away suddenly and unexpectedly (we were both in our 30s). My fiance is not only my fiance but also a psychotherapist so I was hoping to get her here faster.

Edit: Knowing what I know now I could have gotten it approved, but at this point it would only speed up the process by a month and a half or so. We decided to just wait.  I'm going to move into a house I own that I have been renting out and get it ready for her, and she is going to use the time to save up some more money for when she will be out of work.

Hi Bandt,  please may we know how long it took and for you found it was denied? Did they ever request for supporting document? Has your online status ever changed during the whole process. Sorry we have so many questions.

Hello everyone,

Originally I posted in the May filers thread, thinking we belong there. But now, I think that, since our NOA1 was June 6th, we probably belong here.

I am feeling a little dispirited today. We're down to the last month of waiting for the NOA2, making a total of 6 months, if not more. And then probably another two or three until the interview, by the looks of things.

We are all in the same boat, with likely twice the timeline we all thought we were looking at when we filed our I-129Fs.

In addition, I was looking at the digital copies I have of our I-129F and the G325 that we sent off with our package. And I noticed two typos/discrepancies between the information we filled out on those documents. Why didn't I see them before?  I don't know :( They're small but unless the adjudicator allows us to remedy these at the embassy, then we'll likely get a RFE, adding a few weeks onto this already excruciating process.

Well...such is life I suppose. We've got to keep paddling our little boats and hoping for the best.

Best of luck to all.

Keep the faith. If anything this test will be a great indication to the CO how deep our love runs. Today is exactly one month past the date of our original estimate. We still are

looking at another month. All I know is that sometime soon I will be with Rose, AJ and Aira. Nothing else matters.

Hi Birveonrty, please may we know how long it took and by how you found it was denied? You online status ever changed?

The Phils Embassy of Yangon (Myanmar) posted an advisory & notification last Sept 6, 2017 about threat of ARSA group (terrorist from Bangladesh). My fiance was alarmed coz I'm here. So requested to expedite the visa and USCIS responded and gave my fiance some forms to filled up. The USCIS also asked for proofs and so we gave all including the note from Phils Embassy and certificates of my fiance as an army. USCIS evaluated but for them, that was not a very serious reason to expedite.
