One thing I meant to add when I posted this: the fiscal year for USCIS is Oct 1 to Sept 30 so they are shifted exactly a quarter from calendar year. So 3rd quart in these reports is 2nd quarter calendar year. It takes them 2-3months to publish the data so (hopefully!) we will all be approved before 4th quarter (July-Sept) number are published.

And because my role here is that of pessimism, it looks like we are on track for early May filers to average over 150 days which means our timelines are still getting longer. Unless something significant changes, June 2017 filers will have the longest average wait time in 4 years (longest since DACA in 2013).

I have been pretty confident for almost a month in my algorithm which predicted an average wait time of 152 days for early June filers (which is longer than VJ has ever predicted for us). If this week finishes out like it is starting, my algorithm will bump to somewhere between 156 and 158 days for early June filers. Yay us! (NOT!)

Anyone applied for a visa and then tried to get an esta?

I just entered with an ESTA which I applied for after filing for K1. This was the shortest CBP experience I ever had, and I didn't even mention the K1 nor showed any of the documents I had with me (NOA1,  return ticket, letter from my employer that showed he expects me back etc). I can't believe how smooth and fast it all went! It's a lovely sunny day in Seattle

I had the same when I entered about a month ago :)

A colleague of mine is now in Seattle as well, and I asked if I could hide in her bag to go visit Mr. fiance (lives in LA). But alas, no such thing.

Enjoy the visit and the weather!

That always happens, just because the closer you are to the time of approval, specially with how long is taking at the moment, the more people logging on VJ to find out what's happening and their timelines pushing you down

Good luck and patience. It's coming eventually (hopefully sooner than later) :)

Right now VJ is predicting 146-149 days for us. I'm going to grab database this weekend I think and see what it is looking like. I still think that is optimistic as late April/Early May filers look to average REALLY close to 150 (Many May 1 at exactly 150 and some late April's getting up to 160 and still not adjudicated). I don't think they are working them at the rate they came in though so I don't think we can assume the velocity will be constant, so we'll see if I stick with my 152 estimate for early June filers after the weekend analysis.

It sure feels like the 152 is more accurate.  That puts me around a November 13 anticipated approval.  That just feels right, not great, but right to me.  I'm not sure why.  It is a full 10 weeks later than the original estimate.  This seems to be a 5 to 6 month journey to NOA2.  It is what it is.  I can complain but that will not make it any faster.

Thanks for all the number crunching!!!  I love the art behind the science.

I still get looks.  I know they talk behind my back.  They do not understand and they believe Rose is just with me so she can "escape" the Philippines and have a better life in America.  I suppose I can't blame them.  A few years ago I would have thought the same.  There are also those men and women out there who's motivation is to simply get to America.  Time will either prove them right or prove them wrong.  Ether way, I am following my heart and it leads to Rose, Aira and AJ.  I will have no regrets as I have never been so happy or comfortable in a relationship.

We are in the same boat, just reversed. My fiancé (who is in Sweden) gets the opposite from family and friends - "why would you WANT to move to the states?!" Sweden is great, and we did consider the option of me relocating versus him relocating. For our situation, it just made more sense. He's lived and worked here, so there's a previous history. English is his secondary language, whereas I have not yet learned Swedish. More job opportunities for him here versus me there...and so on, and so on... I found that there will always be people who find something wrong with this situation. It's unconventional in a lot of ways; we initially met online and were modernized "pen pals", for the most part, for a long time before we started a relationship. We're international. We're also interracial. So I've learned that these negative opinions come and go - sometimes they come more often than they go. :) But at the end of the day, we come home to one another in the end and are the ones choosing to tolerate this madness for the sake of our love story. We aren't asking anyone else to do it for us. I know there is a stigma to these type of relationships - people abusing the process that many use legitimately for the sake of getting to America or just away from their country. But I like to think that actions speak louder than words - our long-term happiness will speak for itself.

I suffer considerably from anxiety, so if you'd told me years ago I'd be on this path, I would not have ever believed it. And going into it, I worried if I could handle it emotionally. But surprisingly, it's been the one thing in this entire world that I've not second guessed, that I've not regretted, that I've not been consumed by anxiety over. And I think that speaks volumes of its worth.

Håll ut, y'all.
