Slight concern!!!  If we get delayed too far he will turn 18 before we get married and he will have to leave the US until Rose gets her green card and petitions for him. I do believe we will be in the states, married and settled by July but it is a concern.

He has to be in USA by his 21st birthday not 18. As long as a K-2 entered the US before turning 21 and the K-1 parent married the I-129F petitioner within 90 days of entry, then they are eligible for AOS and do not age out.

A K-2 does not need to be under 18 when the K-1 parent's marriage takes place. The K-2 just has to receive the K-2 visa and enter the US with it before turning 21, and the K-1 parent must marry within 90 days of enter with their K-1. That is all it takes for a K-2 to be eligible to adjust status.

From what I've read on here seems Manila is more of a pain with paperwork. Thankfully every review of Jakarta shows a 10 min interview and no police paperwork required.

Now I'm hoping the flight costs to Chicago will still be cheap Flew to Jakarta from O'hare thru Turkey for 400 in May now I'm hoping her ticket will be under 1000 lol.

Do some more checking on that. The CO has to follow federal law and the police certificates are part of the federal requirements. Just do a double check to make sure you have everything in place. The interview takes place on US soil, not in the country that the embassy/consulate is within. Just make sure so there are no last minute “gotchas”!

Yes I know what you mean! I emailed the embassy and for what ever reason they do not require it but they do want a professional translator to do the translation of the birth certificate along a certificate from them. I'm just hoping none of us have to wait to long for NOA2 as it is we all will be pushing the holiday season with interviews.

Oh yes. It will feel like a vacation for them at first. They will experience all of the food and sites that are possible. Sears Tower (I’ll never call it Willis) the Hawks and the Bulls. I think my future step daughter is only interested in the food!  Lol

Oh yes I forgot about the food I do miss the deep dish pizza and Ditka's. Yes the tower will always be Sears! I even thought about taking Rakhel to medieval times something silly and fun. I don't my bride would be able to sit through a Bulls game Indonesians aren't into Basketball much. One of the fun things will be teaching her how to drive not sure how it is in the Philippines but in Indonesia most woman don't drive cars motor bikes yes  but usually its a male family member driving the family cars around.
