So, is a "fake" news that in the end of year the process run fast, right? Specially with the H1b above us...

How much the hurricane can affect us?

The end of the process (post NOA2 and NVC) is  more under our control. The wait for the NOA2 is not. So the end of the process can run faster if you get everything you need in place and push through it. As far as end of year speed ups, I've never really heard of that outside of wishful thinking. I don't believe that there is a traditional end of year pick up in the process.

Disclaimer: I have no inside knowledge, just opinions based upon the data.

I don't think it is "fake" news. If you look at the trend line, it does usually look like a sine wave with the peak in the summer and the trough in the winter. It has been true that people that file in October tend to get adjudicated almost twice as fast as people that file in March. The said, we are in uncharted territory it seems given the change in priorities. The CSC trend line does not look like the last couple  of years. If it did, it would be going down by now, but it is not. It is true that we were effectively put on hold for over a month. So perhaps the trend line will start going down and the "normal" slope will return having just been "pushed to the right" a couple months by the change in priorities. If that is the case, we will have some evidence as May filers will be adjudicated in less time than March and April filers.

I for one am keeping my eye on the May filers to see if the average stays around 140 days or if it drops a little. If it drops 10 days or so, it is a good indication based upon previous years that it could also drop another 5-10 for us, and if so we could see June filers averaging 125 days or so. But I'm not that optimistic. I'm a few days shy of 100 days today as an early June filer and while I hope they get through May in 20 days, I won't be surprised if they don't.

Being separated from loved ones is hard enough. For all us March to who-knows-when filers that took the time to read up on the process and collect data it is particularly hard. Since I had research processing time and trends, I had already had Sept 6 in my mind as target date with a medium probability of extending to Sept 14. So going in, I had mentally prepared for that timeline. When the priority shift happened and the timelines were looking like they would be 150 days (which they became), it was like a punch in the stomach.

I guess we can all hold out hope. In my case my estimate was originally September 6. Now it is October 28. It did move to the good a few weeks ago when it went from October 18 to October 15. That was short lived. All in all, I can't really complain. It is still under 6 months but that may not be the case for long. I am in Manila now just heading back gome. Spending a week with Rose and the kids has reenergized me. I will just deal with whatever happens because it will end at the same place. We will all be together.

I'm not sure what my original VJ estimate was. I was performing my own calculations because the VJ algorithm seems to be pretty unsophisticated. It seems to just look at the data from updates in the last couple weeks and apply that with not too much other data feeding it. Thus, I've been monitoring the data and trying to combine with historical trends--which has been difficult because the shift in priorities made things wonky. VJ should have never moved ours (all us June filers) to the good  like they did and technically it never moved to the "bad" as quickly and as far as it should have. Frankly, my VJ timeline right now says Oct. 19-24. However, if I use data from March and April filers, there is a very high probability that it will be  about 5-8 days worse than that.

Frankly, I did another visit that I just returned from 3 weeks ago. In some ways, I think it made it harder knowing what I'm missing and the still long wait we have.

That is a very interesting point. It was such an amazing trip that I am still on that high. I can imagine that in a week or two my frustration will come back stronger than it was before. I lived in their home and was there to make breakfasts before the kids went to school. I am going to miss that very much.

Just discovered this thread - it's been really tough struggling with the uncertainty. I was looking at those processing time graphs and wondering what the hell was going on, especially because the pattern didn't seem to have historical precedence, but it's certainly helpful to have more information, even if it has confirmed my fears of a delay.

I was in a fortunate position to save up enough money to resign my job and depart for the US for three months on the ESTA - submitted the I129F when I arrived in the US in June, so I've just returned. Thought it'd be sorted soon and I'd be preparing to go back, so this is really disappointing, but I can't imagine how long some of you have had to wait to see your partners/families. It must be very painful, and I really feel for you.

Good luck everybody, and hang in there.

I have just returned from Chicago too see my fiancé, and can agree it is hard knowing what you're living without.

I went to look at our venue and tasted some of the menu whilst there.

Next month I will start to put paperwork together and sort out a check list. I'll also get my jabs done.

Well... 77th day! I'm going in 3 weeks to see my fiancé for 3 weeks:) partially, it's a good point what you've just said - it's hard to see again what we are missing but still.. it's better to spend some time together than apart. I'm sure I'm gonna cry at the airport and be ordering wine on the way back 🤣 But I'm glad I'm doing this visit:)

my hopes were to get to US for Christmas. Now, I know it's almost impossible and I will have to watch 'home alone' by myself this last time:)

Thank you. It was a great visit and now her kids and I have really bonded. The downside is that I miss them all. I am resolute in my determination to be together but I miss her touch, her smell, her smile...soon. October is just a month away!!!
