Ah, I just looked it up.  Right in the middle of Illinois near the University Of Illinois at Champaign... Looks like farm land.  It will be beautiful there.

He wanted to buy a lot and build a small cabin near the lake. I am excited to see. I think, it's quiet and peaceful there.

Wow.  Yes, downstate Illinois is amazing.  Once you get away from the city the sky is lit up with more stars than you can imagine.  Make sure you are prepared for the Illinois winter!

My fiancé just left and it's harder than ever. I miss him so much. The date I submitted was June 30th I just want it to hurry up.

Move never been so depressed in my life. How are people preparing for the next steps after they get their NOA2?

what can I do?

I feel you! This is quite easily the hardest thing I ever have experienced in my entire life, and we were very much emotionally unprepared in the beginning of how difficult this was going to be. I always tell people, when they say things like "I couldn't do that!" or "How are you able to do that?", that yes, it sucks. It's terrible. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. And yes, there's the moments you have where you wonder if you can even get through it. But the alternative to putting up with this mess.....is walking away from the love of my life. From a future together. And that's way more tragic and inconceivable than what we are going through now.

My advice? Well, we aren't too far along in the process ourselves, so I may not be the best person to be giving any. But I can say that what helps me stay grounded and determined is reminding myself what we are doing it for. When my fiancé or I have a really bad day, fortunately the other one usually isn't and is able to deliver a pep talk. Focus on doing things that keep you close, even while apart. My fiancé and I have a 6 hour time difference, so sometimes it's tough, but we make an effort to carve time out at the very least once a week. We FaceTime a lot, and of course text all day long. We try to dedicate an afternoon each weekend (well, morning for me and afternoon for him) where we catch up on a couple of shows that we watch together when we're together in person, so that those little routines don't get disturbed too much. We try having meals "together" over FaceTime, which is difficult sometimes since our meal times don't line up, but you sacrifice obviously. Filling your time with things like that helps, and takes away the opportunity to think too much, which is usually what gets me into a rut.

As for the process - what we are doing now is trying to prepare as much as possible for what's coming up next, once this step is out of the way. That's the best suggestion I have, actually; just aiming to prepare for the step ahead so that once it comes time for it, you guys can go ahead and act on it rather than spend time preparing in between and delaying things more. Use the time we are forced to wait for an answer to one step to your advantage. For us (he is in Sweden), some of the things we know ahead of time will be required are police records (I think it's across the board, but at least in our case, he has to have his records for every country he's lived in since the age of 16). Medical records, vaccinations; my fiancé has been able to find out some information on what vaccinations will definitely be required and is currently looking into what, if any, vaccinations he can go ahead and complete beforehand and get out of the way. We've been researching feedback other members have given on the steps that come after NOA2, including the interview, to get an idea of what may be required. We're over-preparing, too; for instance, I haven't seen anywhere that he definitely has to have some kind of documents reflecting my financial status, as the petitioner/US citizen, but I'm getting those documents to him before the next step anyway so he'll have it.

Just hang in there - I know that's the stupidest thing for anyone to tell you, because I get aggravated when people say that to me. But sometimes it's a "take it one day at a time" sort of thing. I've been told you regain a lot of control in the process once receiving your NOA2, so look forward to that. And utilize this site! Setting up an account here has been one of the smartest things I've done so far. I have found out so much helpful information, and it just generally helps to come here and vent to people who are going through the same thing you are, some of us at the same exact time. XOXO

Håll ut, y'all.

Thank you.  I will do that.  I was hoping for a nice relaxing chance to really spend some time getting to know her kids better...oh well.  It ends up that her sisters are flying in to meet me.  One is in London and the other is in Korea.  So my nice relaxed intimate family time is now traveling to resorts and full of a very hectic schedule.  Parties and meals and the wonderful Filipino tradition that says I pay for everything!!!  LOL  Her family is great so I am looking forward to a very interesting time with great food, great drinks, singing, laughter and love...just very little rest and family time with the kids.

I understand you. When my fiancé comes to visit I like to spend all the time with him, but you know his family lives here so they have to spent time with him too. lol

I just want him for me!!! hahaha

I've made lists of things my fiancé and I can accomplish while we are waiting on NOA2. He has scheduled his CFO seminar for September 22 and has requested NBI clearance, CENOMAR, and has written consent/advice from his parents (we are both 24). I had no idea this was a requirement for the Phils!

I've begun the paperwork for I-134 and started compiling the supporting documents.

There is so much to do!!

quick question..

NBI clearance (Philippines) is the same as police clearance, correct?

I've checked the papers for NOA2 and it looks like I will have to get birth certificate and police clearance just from my country since the other country I've lived for 2 years was US. I'm just wondering if I have to translate both of them for the interview at my consulate in Poland....

do you think is ok to get the mentioned papers now or they should be as fresh as possible?

It's 66th day from NOA1

Question on police certificates.......... if the only other country the beneficiary has lived in since age 16 was the U.S., do they need to get documents from there also just like they would any other country? He's only lived in Sweden and Seattle, WA, since age 16, and he has his translated documents from Sweden. Wondering if he still has to get them from Seattle/the U.S.
