So I sit and wait. Time is on my side. For it has been a mere 6 months and counting. I'm a June 16th date. I haven't seen my Rose in almost 10 months so I am heading back in January regardless. Here I come the Philippines. Not bad because Michigan in January can be unkind to say the least. We talk daily and it hard to be away. But we manage , as everyone else on this page. So I tip my glass to all those approvals and all the approvals to come. I'm just guessing, but I'm thinking I might get some response by weeks end.

Anyone want to throw out an estimate for when I could expect to hear anything for  June 26th date?  The wait is killing me.  Im debating buying us tickets to go on a vacation in February or March because I don't want to have to wait a year to see her again..

Even if you get approved and have VOH by then, you’ll both need and thoroughly deserve a vacation. So, regardless of approval date, I think it’s a super idea to get a date in the diary and for you both to have something to look forward to. Just my opinion.

thank you so very much ! i think maybe we will try to call the uscis tomorrow morning , or just wait ... if we call . do you have some questions wanted to ask too ? maybe we can do it....want to help a bit like @Naes @The Squirrel @vocaledge

You're very welcome :)

If you do decide to call, if you would kindly report back to us any information you get, I think that would be very helpful!

However...based on what others have mentioned, it doesn't seem like there'll be a lot to tell us. But I don't want to discourage you!  :P

Yes the truth seems to be that governments are the same everywhere and it's kind of useless to prod them. No matter what, we're going to have to wait, for the most part.

Aren't there some tough, determined and loving people on this forum, though? Wow!  Every time I miss my fiance (all the time) and feel sorry for myself (every day), I think about people who haven't seen each other for a year, or whose children are waiting for them or their partners. Especially over the holidays! Oh, man... that is so hard.

Folks with waiting children, living loooong, daunting distances apart and suffering long intervals between having the comfort of each other's presence.  My heart goes out to you the most.   (L)

I wrote my US Congressional Representative a little over a week ago - a staff member was assigned, and she called USCIS to get an update for me. Didn't provide much information other than that my case hadn't been assigned to an officer yet (June 5 NOA1), but I did get two emails and a phone call from the Representative's staff member and she said she would check every 2 weeks with phone calls to the USCIS until our NOA2 comes through. So the only advice I have, is write your Congresscritter... I mostly mentioned in my (one paragraph letter) correspondence that I'd like Congress to help USCIS get better at updating their website, providing accurate information to filers/customers, and by all means stop telling people that they are still "only" working on May 1 cases for weeks and weeks.

Hehe.  I selfishly need yours to be approved soon so I can see what the NVC times are like.  There's not a lot of people from New Zealand itching to get to America at the moment so every New Zealand approval is a big deal for me!!!
