Congratulations @Ay Pe:wub:

With all the talk about weddings and all, I’d like to ask the beneficiaries of this June forum as to how they feel about marrying outside of their countries, with no family whatsoever to witness one of the best days of their lives.

I’m asking because our plans are similar to most of y’all. Simple civil wedding, A few attendees, all from the Petitioner’s side.

It kinda pains me to think about not seeing any family member on my special day, All i know is i have to be strong for the both of us, and all hardships are temporary.

Thanks, and congratulations to the lucky winner of the day!

I've opened that scenario to Tillie. Her parents and sister do not have a US visa but we will try to get them one for the wedding. She has a lot of aunts and cousins in the US and a few more relatives in the Philippines who have a US visa. We will invite them to our wedding for sure. With "wedding" I mean the actual wedding ceremony and reception, which we will probably do in Hawaii late next year.

I am shopping for a Barong (traditional filipino shirt) on my trip next week.  I love Rose's culture and I want to keep as much of it alive in the US as possible.  I am bigger than most filipinos so I am hoping I can find a barong that fits...

Check out the SM malls or this one store in Greenhills - I forgot the name though. They've got barongs for big guys.

Thank you.  I will do that.  I was planning on a trip to MOA but there are other SM malls close by.

Oh nice! :)

We will definitely do it on Oahu. Our initial plan, and I hope it will all work out, is to have it at the Sunset Ranch in Haleiwa on the North Shore.

If that doesn't work, we will do a beach wedding at the Ko'Olina in Kapolei.

...and another day is added to the VJ timeline... this is an emotional rollercoaster.  The new date is a Saturday so I might as well add two more.  It will get here when it gets here.  I can handle next week if that is what it takes.

Yikes. I'm so sorry. :( Family can be weird and spiteful. My stepmum has kept EVERYTHING hush hush. Got a hefty payout... Myself and my sister (from his first marriage) have not seen a penny nor do we know what caused his death. Karma. Good old karma will come around.

I really hope everything goes well for you. 💜 Really happy you have someone to give you away. 💜💜

Hi, As you seem to be from the UK under English law Wills are available for everyone to see/ read once probate is finalized so you should be able to see what was in someone's will, I am sure that copies death certificates can be purchased from the local registrar.

Also,  my fiancée is wondering why as a man I am reading all about your wedding plans!

OMG - we have a house 15 mins from Ko'Olina right in Kapolei! :) We'll be looking at venues in January when I visit my fiancé.

The estimates here aren't really something to hang your hat on.  I think we rely on them too much simply because they are there.

It could be a lot worse for us.  I would rather be a day or a week away than 5 months!  This is going to happen soon.  I feel it.

There are people from mid-May who have yet to hear back.

They are  past 200 days.

My heart goes out to them.

I won't be able to do another 30 days.

You would honestly think USCIS would have a better system to track how some files can so easily slip threw the cracks when others seem to so effortlessly be touched.  I imagine their hearts seeing juners get approvals and still waiting.... its gotta be frustrating and slightly permanently damaging .. lol... but seriously..
