I’m getting married in the courthouse ASAP, will plan the party afterwards and be relaxed about it.

Not it sure why anyone would do it differently, too much risk and stress involved.

I agree.

@John & Rose  @Lisa & Jorge I hope you get your NOA2 today. It will give me hope for mine.

@John & Rose I see that you have already gone to GCP. The website says that it's purpose is to counsel Filipino citizens on the future in the country they are going to - however they ask for a lot of the documentation that has already been given to the US Embassy. Can you give any insight on what actually happens during the CFO step? Is there some type of interview that happens at that point?

There is a presentation on some cultural differences and a short one on one interview.  The questions were about me.  My address (including zip code), my job, my birthdate, when we met, my kids...

They also hand out a domestic abuse pamphlet and let het know who to contact in case of a problem.

She brought everything with her but she said they didn't ask to see anything from her.  Other's there had to show some paperwork.  The best bet is to have everything they ask for and hopefully not need anything.  I believe she mentioned that one woman had to go and print something for them to see.  She left and went to a computer shop for the paperwork.

Make sure your partner is there 90 minutes early (like they state on the site).  People who showed up just a few minutes late were turned away.  There is some paperwork to fill out before the class so they do need that time.

@purplepink, I'm sure @John & Rose can agree with me when I say SO DO WE!

PS: I'm doing the same thing with my fiancé as far as a marriage goes... super simple ASAP in my parents home with a friend who is ordained to marry.  with all the immigration costs, and our careers and my single-motherhood, my man and I just don't have money for a wedding and we are VERY simple people.  It is more important for us to have an intimate ceremony with the Lord, than spend a ton on a celebration. (but that's just us! - I have been to a huge 2-day wedding in Poland and had a BLAST)   I'm literally shooting for a 0$ cost wedding ( our wedding rings are being given to us from my maternal grandmother's late marriage -oh so sweet-, I already have a cute cream lace dress I can use as a wedding "gown" , I don't even have an engagement ring, but still believing ill get a diamond one day and I'm okay with that; and we wont pay anything but the fee to register for marriage in my county.)

so I'm vibin with ya :-) we are just so ready to be MARRIED - GOD IS SO SO GOOD

I am not sure how costly we will go but I do know I want some Cambodian influence and plan to make my groomsmen wear Cambodian style attire. For me it is simple to make me happy, I want to make sure no religion involved since I am against it. So I will make it more about keeping her happy but she doesn't care about having a huge wedding either.

I have found some Cambodian wedding planner already for after my love arrives :)

Congratulations @Ay Pe:wub:

With all the talk about weddings and all, I’d like to ask the beneficiaries of this June forum as to how they feel about marrying outside of their countries, with no family whatsoever to witness one of the best days of their lives.

I’m asking because our plans are similar to most of y’all. Simple civil wedding, A few attendees, all from the Petitioner’s side.

It kinda pains me to think about not seeing any family member on my special day, All i know is i have to be strong for the both of us, and all hardships are temporary.

Thanks, and congratulations to the lucky winner of the day!
