Every day that passes should bring us one day closer, not two days further.

I miss my fiance and son. We lived together from Jan 2013 to May 2017, how can I adjust to not having them.

I was told about the January cases and I queried why it's going backwards however I did not find anything out but the woman was at least kind on the phone. Considering how long we have been together, our child and my financial situation my case should be an extremely easy one. This is absurd!

I dont know if I will ever understand the dropping from March 15 to January 1 in the processing.  There were a few in April that just got their approvals.  So they are obviously farther along than their own site reports.  Here's to us all being back with our loved ones ASAP.

Hey everyone.. I really appreciate this great website and all of its members with their great supports. This is the first time I'm writing here and am so excited.

I received my NOA1 on June 5th and my Fiance' is in Iran. We have been together for the past 3.5 years now and I've been traveling back and forth to visit her. I know we still have to wait for several weeks to get the NOA2, but this is getting extremely stressful for both of us. We are both used to waiting but now we have the fear of whatever happenes after the travel ban. It is really sad that we are not even 100% sure that even after we get our approval, she can still get the visa because of what Trump is trying to do against Iranians. I'm still optimistic that we are gonna make it through this long process and I really hope that everything goes well.

I truly wish u all the best and hope everyone get the visa pretty soon and have a long life together with your other half.:)

I wish you the best.  Having her location thrown in as yet another unknown must be tough.  I pray all goes well and you are united as soon as possible.

The problem is that a few weeks ago the site said it was processing March 15 files. Then it dropped back to January 1. Some April people are getting approved while February and March are still waiting!!!  There is a lot of confusion.

On July 12th they moved the "processing times" to February 15th (I filed my petition February 2nd). At that moment I was "outside normal processing times" and I filed and inquiry. Less than a week later, the USCIS moved it back to January 1st. I received my NOA2 on July 19  (163 days). There are still February filers waiting for their NOA2. However, those of us who waited outside 160 days are not the norm  (it appears the average is now around 120 days)

I am hoping that the pace will pick up. I can tell you how infuriating it is to wait for 5 months with your life on hold. I wish all of you guys the best of luck and a speedy process.

Every step whether it's K1, AOS or other they are all confusing and I understand your frustrations. My recommendation is that you need the system to run its course or you will remain in that state for the next 3 years. You can jump up and down, scream till your blue in the face and you change nothing. I'm just trying to put this in some semblance of order for your edification. Stay calm. You will never understand why they do what they do.

This is the best advice I have seen today!:)

There is no rhyme or reason to any of this process...

It is frustrating when people who applied 2 months after you get approved and devastating knowing there are people two months before you not approved. This is the most confusing roller coaster ride that can be taken.

One thing I do know is....the night's sleep after receiving the NOA2 is one of the best nights sleep I ever had....

I agree, before we even started I knew this part would be about 5-8 months so I don’t waste my time checking every day. I am choosing to use my time planning for the future and focussing on work and selling the bits I can to save up for unemployment. I am well away of the restrictions I face when I move to visit home and just take decent time off so enjoy that while you can. I talk to my fiance 3-4 times a day and continue to nag him to look at wedding venues. I meanwhile research shipping my stuff over, the rules of the Ohio roads but continue to live this life while I wait for the next chapter in ‘that’ life. Don’t wish the days away with your family and friends this side, my LDR friends on Instagram spend their days pining for visits back!

I’d find it useful to make friends on here to learn about US health insurance, car insurance, setting up US bank accounts, getting money between countries...the practical stuff. The wait is the wait and we’ve all a while yet although I know people would like it immediately x

Very nicely said. Thank you for this. It has relaxed my heart and mind a bit. What is a few months compared to the prize at the end.

I saw this too, this past week, and it felt like getting the wind knocked out of me. We only filed in June, so I know we have a long wait. But that month's worth of setback made it feel like the two months we have been waiting so far were for nothing. But I have heard that the times posted/reported by USCIS are not entirely accurate, and there are actually March and April filers being approved. Who knows what causes the fluctuation on their end; perhaps they have more intricate cases than usual that take up more time or throw off the curve overall. Not knowing is the worst, though. Not having a set "end in sight", or something to look towards. No date to count down to, no way to know how much longer there is. This is the worst part, for me. Being apart is always hard, but I feel so much relief when there is progress. Not having any feels so idle and wasteful. And I'm not the one changing everything/moving! My fiancé is the one who will be moving across the world and leaving his comfort zone and family behind. Paired with the anxiety of this process, I cannot even imagine. But I do know it makes me love him so much more in ways I couldn't possibly love another person. It makes me appreciate him and respect him immensely, more than I already do.

You are absolutely correct...

The USCIS timeline says they are working on January cases but March and April cases are being approved now. They do not go in order.....when I sent my petition in January 29th the average wait time was 85 days. And there were a couple of February filers that had their interviews long before I received my NOA2.

The petitions are almost always approved by USCIS  (99%). So it will come.....but the waiting is difficult.

My fiance was always the more patient of the two of us  (I'm the hot headed southern woman that's not afraid to yell at people :D) The one thing this process is doing is teaching me....my fiance and I are really good together.....he has been my voice of reason. He is calm and patient and generous (even when I am ranting). And I have to constantly remind myself that I am not the one leaving everything I know to move half way round the world....

I did find comfort through VJ (and my fellow February filers) The people here are very kind and supportive. In fact, I have relied heavily on their knowledge and experience.

We are all in this together. It will all be worth it in the end....we just have to hold on for the ride.

A couple of people on Instagram recommended these so I’m planning on trying them in the next few months while I wait for noa2 to send a few bits of lesser value to see how they do https://www.sendmybag.com/?gclid=CPyGi_v0vdUCFckp0wodwcoK6A

Then around March I’ll ship the rest while I clear my flat and put notice on my job, sell the car, sort out loose ends with banking and bills etc

If the best things in life are free, why is a long distance relationship so expensive!?

Have they cashed the check? And did you include the G 1145 form?

I sent my packet via FedEx on Monday and they received it Tues. Sent the 1145 form - no text yet but my check was cashed this morning. Today is the 4th.

You should get a text  (and/or email) anytime now

The letter takes 5 to 10 days to get to the mailbox  (the USCIS says it may take a month)
