Just a quick question about the Affidavit of sponsor form.

Where it mentions dependants, is this where my fiancé (USC) would list his children? The do not live with him, nor did he file them on his taxes.

Sorry for the silly question

I know I posted this not too long ago, but think my question was skipped by all of the travelling pets queries lol...

Yes your USC fiance would fill this in if he has children, or anyone depending on him. If they are not living with him and he is not claiming them on his taxes then the answer is none or N/A

There are lots of NOA2s coming in mail without an update on case tracker.

But what if he pays child support? Isn’t that still a dependent?

Confused, so would they be put on the form or not, as technically they are his kids and does support them financially, however he does not claim them on his taxes. ... 😣🤔

If he pays child support then I believe they should be listed and there is an option for full or partial support on the I-134 in the dependents. However I'm not 100% sure since they don't live with him..

Yes they are his dependents until they turn 18 or if the court order has made that age later.

@vocaledge

I can only assume you are compiling a list of people from June 1st onwards with Approvals?

Seems like theres more activity today for June 2nd approvals. :) congratulations to you all who received your NOA2!!

June 1st here still sat scrating my head. I Guess being in one of the smallest groups of Filers were likely to be one of the last in June to hear?

This is correct! My fiance works at a law firm dealing with HB1s and he said that they get frustrated because the government authorties issue RFEs just as the "normal processing time" is about to expire (i.e. 2 days before!), thereby further delaying the process!

Thanks for the data point. This was being hypothesized as a likely reality for us early June folks a couple months ago when it was obvious we would be very near 182 days and several of us would be over. Sad that this is the way it is, but no surprise.
