Yes, unfortunately, that is an accurate statement. And not to mention that the office is probably at bare minimum staff this week and may even be until next week.

I think we all expected some speed bump with the holiday. They do work Friday but we can assume it won’t be a full productive office. I anticipate a slowdown today and Friday then back to business as usual on Monday, at least for a couple weeks before the Christmas spirit hits them.

Yeahh.... My fiance is military and got a half day today. So I told him - hope that doesn't count for USCIS! His reply: If they are civilians they will only get 59 min early release. That's the earliest a government civilian could be released if their supervisor let's them.

So I'm still hoping there are some people working!

Must be a military thing. But also, it's not the supervisors releasing them, it's the President. One year we were only given an hour, and people were pretty upset that the President was being so stingy that year. But I also think the most we ever got was 3 hours. BUT who knows. Trump can be all, "This is a waste of tax-payer money!!! Get back to work!!!" I can see about sending a message to one of my old contacts...but it would be awkward because all the ones I actually talk to don't work there anymore. And it's kind of awkward contacting people you haven't talked to in years for a favor lol. Then you have to do that fake, "Oh no, I was interested in what's been going on in your life these past 5 years. How's the fam? GOOD! GOOD! So are you getting off early today?! Oh, no no, Not because I wanted to get together, but yeah we should schedule that. Just wondering! :D"

Well, my Christmas wish is that before the Christmas spirit hits them, all the Junies have already been dealt with. I'm at the tail-end of June, so here's wishing!!!!

It doesn't matter at all if it was expedited or not, it is more than obvious at this point that they do not honor "expedite" as priority, but simply put them on top of the pile of that day, and do it first when that day comes up. Plain and simple.

There is quite a bit of evidence that this is not the case. There are not many expedites granted and they tend to get worked 2-4 weeks earlier than others. You can go back and search the data.

Anecdotally, our very own June filer Elaine that posted yesterday was an expedite. They filed for expedite late (not when they filed petition)--when it became obvious that they would not be approved until late November or December (a little over a month ago). Within a week or so it was worked and they got an RFE (Elaine can give the actual timeline if she wishes). Had she not got RFE, she would have been approved a month or more ahead of her date.

Assuming your calculations are correct, this is very useful info

I feel pretty good about the models because they seem to be correct. If not a little optimistic (just a wee bit thankfully).

Quite awhile ago I predicted 174-178 days average for early June filers--that model predicted that we would start seeing approvals for June days at 168 days as I have mentioned previously. We are pretty close to that. We are seeing June 5 today which is at 170 days and June 6 today which is at 169 days. Thanksgiving will put a bump into it, but all data indicates that 65-75% of us should come in under 180 days (take that my pessimist friend John [and cross your fingers just to be safe :P]!).

The approvals for a day plot out to a rough bell curve with the bulk of them extending over a 10-12 day period with a bit of a leading edge and a very long trailing edge. I can discern nothing from the available data that would explain the long trailing edge--so I assume it has something to do with the nature of the petition.

So, the bright side is, we are in the home stretch of the first leg of the journey, then only 3 more legs to go!

That is correct, we did request for expedite late, when I started to panic, but he was underway that time so I had to wait till he is back! I hope this can help other expedited case who are wandering around. This is my timeline:

Sept. 6- Request for expedite sent.

Oct. 4- They received our request

Oct 11 - It was assigned to an officer & got approved

*In between these dates they asked my fiances deployment order which he already included in the expedite packet. I think they were asking for more detailed one but he cant do that. He fax an almost same letter just longer explanation why he cant.

Oct. 23- We  received RFE on email

Oct. 26- Received it by mail

Oct. 29- Fiance sent a response

Nov. 6- They received it

Nov. 21- We got approved.

RFE is frustrating you know they touched your papers yet they put it down on the file again. I think we didnt save a lot of time as much as I want, but I cant imagine just getting and RFE now, so I am glad our case still got expedited.
