Yup so you need to have MMR, TDaP (Tet, Diptheria & Pertussis) +Tetanus booster, a flu shot and you need to say you've had chickenpox in the past.

And I 100% agree this is a VERY stressful process

Extra info re the chickenpox - we (UK and NL - don't know of any other countries so far) don't have a vaccine for that, so we get a waiver for it. Probably based on saying you've had it.

As for flu shot, a fellow Dutch filer just had her medical 2 days ago (early May received) and was not required to get one. Am still trying to figure that one out!

Yeah - did mention that about chickenpox, and from reports on this site, simply saying you had chickenpox gets the waiver at our embassy doctors.

As for the flu, I just went and got mine at the local Boots pharmacy - it cost like £12, better to be safe than get slammed at an extortionate price in London.

When will you be getting your GP to write a letter?

i will sort my shots out in the next couple weeks. I have some sort of allergy to the flu shot, and read a post where someone got their doc to note it in their letter. During the medical they didn’t need to have it. I will do the same and see what happens.

Exactly what I did in Sept and I paid for it with my Boots loyalty points 😁 (And I got flu a month later!)

@Britanee7 - better to get that flu jab before you do the medical, than risk a £40 vaccination fee at the Knightsbridge, imo.

MMR, Tetanus and Flu

Thanks for this info.

I had my MMR when I was very young. Pretty sure I have had my Tetanus shot too.

I'm the process of switching GPs.

I'm reading everywhere that we need a print of our medical history to take to the Kingston medical?

You can get the summary and your vaccinations list without going to the GP - that is if you have a ‘Patient Access’ login and your GP has turned on the online privileges for yoy to view them.

Kingston? London, yes, a medical summary.

In fact, this is what they request

  1. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

You are required to bring the following for each person having a medical examination:

  1. Original Passport or UK Driving Licence (photo card not paper licence)

We do NOT accept copies of ID

  1. 4 X Identical Passport style photos - UK or US size

(we accept UK or US sized photographs)

  1. ACRO Police certificate (or a copy) dated within 12 months for anyone 16 years of age & over (if your police certificate is more than one page long please advise Knightsbridge Doctors ahead of your medical as you may need additional time with the Doctor. If you fail to tell us ahead of time you may be asked to come back to go over this for an additional fee).
  1. Vaccination records - Please provide a vaccination record for the panel to look over on the day to advise if any further vaccines are needed.

Please bring Red Books, if available.

https://uk.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/16/2015/11/vaccine_chart.pdf

Please visit the above link to see which vaccines are required for each age group.

  1. Completed medical questionnaire which can be found on page 7 of the medical pack.
  1. A Letter/Email from the embassy/NVC to confirm your case number and visa category
  1.  Summary of medical history from GP (NOT full medical records) and reports covering any medical conditions, disabilities, and prior serious illnesses you have been treated for or anything ongoing. This is a new requirement and may not yet be added to the checklist online or the US EMBASSY LONDON website. We will keep your medical on hold if you do not have it with you on the day of the appointment. Ask your GP for a Patient Summary.
  1. If you wear glasses or contact lenses please bring them along to the appointment

Please follow this link; https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/family-immigration/medical-examination/ where you can download a PDF document which outlines the medical, maps, and questionnaire.

We'll see if we get any more today!
