I think USCIS itself should make an official app and reduce the websites traffic by separating the site and the cases... but oh well

In an ideal world you'll see it updated on the site and potentially get an email (if you signed up for that service)..... Thats not reality though, sometimes you just get the USPS mail.

Hard copies are sent, you should also be able to see it electronically and if you sent the form with your application for e-notifications then by email and text message.
