@Naes I really hope this is the case and there are less filers and it goes quicker as im going out of my mind here. Im on day 131 and feels like a lifetime. Havent seen him properly since August. Going out for Thanksgiving and then for Xmas but i really want my NOA2.

What is the rough estimate for the process between NOA2 and approvals anyone know? Also im not very good with this stuff and everytime i look into something i get distracted with work. Can anyone help me with why people are asked for further evidence? What evidence is needed. If you get requested this does it delay your application?

Also when would you need to do the police check?

Anyone know the final cost. We obviously paid the filing fee $535 or around there.

Thanks and sorry!!!!

I'm a UK filer too.

RFEs can be for anything that was missing from your application - from photographs to proof of relationship, sometimes even just an unchecked box.  You can't really tell until you get it.  An RFE is at least a sign that you have been 'touched', and although it might be seen as a delay, things are usually approved quickly after you provide the requested evidence, so I genuinely don't see it that way.

Get your police check now... it lasts for 12 months and much better to have it ready - it can take a couple weeks.

Costs after the initial filing.....

Medical: £300ish + any vaccination costs you require at the time (get them before at your own GP if you haven't already done so).  If they wont do them for free, they will definitely be far cheaper than the embassy doctors in London.

DS-160 in the region of £200.

Hope this helps - sorry that I dont have the exact financial figure in front of me, but thats pretty close.

Thats amazing @vocaledgeThank you so much.

That really does help. I read somewhere that there was also a charge of $1000ish for something as well as the medical and DS-160 which is fine id pay anything to be with my Fiance but just want to know so i can put it aside.

Thank you again for your help.

100% :-) HOLD PLEASE

Mine won't be over 6 months old, but definitely the medical and embassy guidelines say within the last 12 months.

I am here with your guys! June is on its way it looks like it's really coming soon!!!

For the timeline try finding a fellow from UK because it changes drastically depending on the country.

Same for prices too however the visa fee is around 260 I believe and in Japan at least the medical costs start from 300 so try finding someone from UK to be sure.

RFE may delay a few weeks in most cases sometimes less and sometimes more but 2 weeks seems like the average.

And for the police check I remember this also depends on the country you will ask it from.

Some countries also takes time to send it to you, so check those and start applying.

Usually, (Please know that this is not always the case) you can use this for 6 months after receiving.

The philipines the cost is 265 usd 13780 pesos and the medical is 335 usd 17025 pesos

I see where the confusion may lie.

I have called in advance for the medical and they stated on the phone, 12 months, as also says in their email... (shown below)

You are required to bring the following for each person having a medical examination:

  1. Original Passport or UK Driving Licence (photo card not paper licence)

We do NOT accept copies of ID

  1. 4 X Identical Passport style photos - UK or US size

(we accept UK or US sized photographs)

  1. ACRO Police certificate (or a copy) dated within 12 months for anyone 16 years of age & over (if your police certificate is more than one page long please advise Knightsbridge Doctors ahead of your medical as you may need additional time with the Doctor. If you fail to tell us ahead of time you may be asked to come back to go over this for an additional fee).
  1. Vaccination records - Please provide a vaccination record for the panel to look over on the day to advise if any further vaccines are needed.

Please bring Red Books, if available.

https://uk.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/16/2015/11/vaccine_chart.pdf

Please visit the above link to see which vaccines are required for each age group.

  1. Completed medical questionnaire which can be found on page 7 of the medical pack.
  1. A Letter/Email from the embassy/NVC to confirm your case number and visa category
  1.  Summary of medical history from GP (NOT full medical records) and reports covering any medical conditions, disabilities, and prior serious illnesses you have been treated for or anything ongoing. This is a new requirement and may not yet be added to the checklist online or the US EMBASSY LONDON website. We will keep your medical on hold if you do not have it with you on the day of the appointment. Ask your GP for a Patient Summary.
  1. If you wear glasses or contact lenses please bring them along to the appointment

Please follow this link; https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/family-immigration/medical-examination/ where you can download a PDF document which outlines the medical, maps, and questionnaire.

HOWEVER

If you follow the link they give at the bottom, that says 6 months.  Thats confusing.

Due to this, I'd follow 6 months to be safe, since the person I spoke to on the phone could have been confused, or could have been correct... no way to know really - be on the side of caution.
