Will that get us anywhere? The Trump administration imposed a federal hiring freeze.

Hey, the way I understand it, is that a freeze is head count. this means they’re not increasing the workforce.

If an employee leaves, they can replace them. Google those type of jobs.. there seems to be plenty of openings. I don’t blame anyone for leaving a post given the pressure and bureaucracy they’re dealing with as an adjudicator.

This K1 is not a happy occasion. We were happy when he took my father for a lunch to ask him for my hand in marriage and when he consequently proposed to me. Literally cloud 9. We thought that we could be spending my first US Halloween together. We were content with a c 90 day NOA2 approval (beginning of September). With the greatest of respect to you (and you know I love you, yet I don’t know you) you entered this journey with more realistic, albeit volatile current timelines. I could ask my F to take mini muffins or grande muffind to them, but I hesitate that it’s going to speed us up :)

Angry isn’t the word to describe us, not us anyway. Frustrated and feeling like we’re doing a innocent prison sentence without an end date is more poignant unfortunately. Arrrrggghh!

@Naes I just want to reiterate the appreciation we all have for what you’re doing for us Junies, outside your day job. You’re a superstar.

I’m off to count my dog’s claws now. X

There are so many amazing people here. We are all in a position that none of us has any control over. Everyday Rose asks me if there is any word. Everyday I tell her how much I love her AJ and Aira but alas, no word. We are smiling through this but we were hoping for Christmas together then New Years now maybe Valentines Day. Our love is strong but it still hurts.  We were looking at 3 months when we filed and 5 to 6 now. We have no control so we simply smile and  know that this will end and we will be together.

Yep. The speed we are getting out of USCIS is the speed we get. No new hires especially for immigration. It is what it is and the journey will end. We need to simply love our partners and anticipate the journey’s end.

Yeah I said that wrong. k1 s end is a happy occasion...

I actually started thinking it was old timelines too... I'm just lucky cause I was planning on having the visa and then wait here till the time comes.

see I hate living in Japan. And I hate my job. In a level it gave me so much stress and this stress brought sickness even more. So if anything I do is of help it is both helping you guys and me, I look at these numbers more serious than I do at my job believe me.

PS_ so how many does a dog have???

I feel like all the comments went from being excited and hopeful the past few days to a somber tone the past day or so. What happened?? Did something change that’s i missed? Are we looking at potentially longer wait times?

NOA1 - June 26, 2017

NOA2 - January 17, 2018

Not really.  170 still seems like a great estimate. Things just got weird for a second but all is well now

Potentially, yes. But we’re trying to keep our spirits up. The Squirrel’s plethora of gifs keep us smiling

@June2017UK what happened that we could “potentially” see longer wait times? Or is everyone just speculating?

Hey, I’m the Queen of Speculation with my abacus firmly under my arm... and please don’t tilt my crown.

But we need to know what your expectations are / were before it’s up for debate.

Haha touché. I am not trying to debate...I am trying to be informed on what everyone is talking about.

My expectations, as of 15 minutes ago, were that it would take 160-170 days for NOA2. The USCIS received my application on June 26th. My timeline estimates I will receive NOA2 between Dec 8-11. I am only trying to understand if this estimate is being pushed out further or not...

Not touche. More tongue in cheek :). Your expectations are on-par with the rest of us. Generally av.170 days ..could be longer.

There are still one or two Feb filers waiting right now so caveats all round.

But stick with the average that’s being reported on VJ.

If longer, report back here and VJers can, and will give advice. Best wishes.
