I was one of the people concerned about them sending RFEs just to buy some time.  I hope they lost the pictures because just creating an RFE for no good reason can really add to the stress.  I wonder if their point system gives them points for RFEs?  A quota maybe?

Can you please ask your fiancé where did she get her picture taken? It is very stressful because I don't know if we can send the same thing or need a new one. My fiancé thinks they are just wasting time or probably lost it. He don't want to get new pictures because he believes it should be fine.

I will ask her and let you know.  She is asleep now.

Personally, I would just send new ones.  There are places that will give an electronic copy of the photo.  You can email it to him and he can get it printed himself.  Much quicker than the three weeks it takes for snail mail.

I was wondering the same thing...if there is a quota or maybe even a lottery where they have to randomly do an RFE

I hope not random but they may simply find a small issue that they would otherwise just fix themselves and get credit for an RFE.

The case we are talking about is expedited so the RFE really sucks.  I suppose that they could have lost the pictures or they were not as required.

Ohh ok, that sucks even worse that the case is supposed to be expedited and is taking this long!

Thank you so much! That is a great idea! It won't hurt if my fiancé can send my old one and the new one that he will print out, that will save us so much money for shipping and the time! I would go crazy if they will send me "too much extra letter". Also I am wondering how do they take care of files to misplace the pictures (if they did).

My fiancé talked to someone who also has an expedited papers, he said he also got a rfe email, it's been a month and they haven't received the mail yet.

Based on the rfe letter we got, you can only request a new one after the date that is written on the letter which is a month later. Total waste of time. At least we got ours on same week.

@Elaine282017 either your photos were not the right size, or they slipped out of your file by accident, maybe in Texas where thy first opened your mail and took the payment out to be deposited. Only other possibility is that you got a "wise guy" RFE as in, no reason for expedite, so here RFE. I don't believe that to be the case, since your other half is an honorable US serviceman.

My advice, get old photos again, in matte and glossy, get new photos in ate and glossy. So you have it all, unless they want some retro black & white photos :D

Also my advice, it costs what it costs, get the photos taken, and send it "overnight" mail. If it is $50 or $100 or $150 to get it done, it is nothing considering how long you two will be together in the future. If you take yours Monday, have it to him on Tuesday, he can overnight them to have USCIS to receive it on Wednsday. Don't think too much, just go get it done :)

Snail mail takes 3 weeks from the Philippines even if you pay for faster service.  We tried both and it was identical.

No, there is not. RFE needs something added, so it has a reason.

Sometimes I find it hard to believe what you come up with, almost like you are not writing this for us to read but for someone else

There is no RFE credit, you know that. As per the "Q&A", once RFE is sent, the case file stays on the desk of the officer who handles it, and it does not go into a "joint bin", or to another USCIS adjudicator. When it comes back, it gets done right away (for credit naturally).

And @John & Rose, if they find "a small issue that they would otherwise just fix themselves" as you just said, why not just approve it? Common sense.

Just went to Philippines postal service website, regular mail is 7-14 days. You just like overestimating things seems like

sssss

Also, they do have an express service (even overnight) offered for "time sensitive documents", they call it IEMS. Here is a link to the page, everything is explained
I hope I helped my Philippino here :)

And just how many letters have you mailed to and from the Philippines?  You live in a delusional world. Every federal employee is perfect and professional and you believe something is true when you see it on a website. We had to get two copies of the letter of intent. The first one was sent without any expediting and it took 3 weeks. When we found an error we needed another one right away. We paid a completely unreasonable amount for their fast service. It got the letter 3 weeks later.

Do they also advertise how they hold anything they feel is important for a “delivery fee” that is determined by the carrier at the time?  Do they mention they open every package and take valuables out?  Philpost is the most corrupt mail service in the world.

I’d love to live in your cartoon world sometime. It sounds fun.

Thank you @Naes, that was the list I was looking for, but I fell asleep last night. And, as soon as I woke up, back to my forum family (love all of you guys ! :))

@Naes, the document came in huge, I can't see the numbers all the way to the right, and I have the widest screen possible. Can I please bother you to look at it.

Also, is there a way to put all of the rejections under one number instead of 5 different categories. Just to have a easier overview of the page. Thanks a million !

I have to disagree with you on that @The Squirrel. I am a Filipino and it is quite different in the Philippines. It might say 7 to 14 days but the mail deliveries will take weeks especially if the post office is understaffed. It also depends if the beneficiary lives in the city or the province where the post office is not nearby.

P.S. My uncle works in PHLPOST ( Based on the link that you've shared) ;)
