Im sorry for the sad Christmas outcome for all of you guys.

It is a limbo where neither you can just go or stay, as you all probably also trying to save money or trying to save your vacation days to visit when the interview date is here...

It isn’t that bad.  I realized months ago it wasn’t going to happen so I have already booked an early December visit.  I will have a little less time later but it is worth having an early Christmas together.

I think that's awesome! And at least they can adjust the colder weather conditions slowly instead of jumping into a sudden winter!

That is true.  It saves them going out to buy all the winter clothes during the Chicago winter!

Wow Chicago from Philippines??? All I remember was walking in Philippines literally melting to the asphalt... it's good so their body can adjust! Even winter clothes can't save you from that much of a change!

So, looking at everything and it all slowing down and such, I honestly thought this was going to be quicker. My tenancy agreement on my current accomodation runs out in January. If this all carries on, I'm going to be stuck in another 6 month contract.

They won't do a rolling month by month contract with me as they want a certain, guaranteed income (understandable). The 6 month moving window will be gone by the time my contract runs out.

Not gonna lie... My heart is in my mouth. I now own many pairs of brown pants... 😥

Erm... Who? What? Am I being simple here and not catching on to what you're saying? 😳 (Long day at work)

I'm being cool. Got everything ready, planned, all quotes rounded up and companies written down to ship belongings and my cat ready to get things done ASAP and get there. Been waiting for all this to happen for years.

Last hurdle.

Gotta say, you and Naes have been super awesome, and entertaining, in this thread. Thanks for everything so far.

@Lotts I am a big James Bond fan :). That scene is from the movie "Live and Let Die" from 1970's, and the actor is Sir Roger Moore (my favorite Bond), who sadly has passed away just recently. There he is left on the island to be eaten by the crock's, and he gets away as you can see in the pic. Being that you have that "Union Jack" on your profile, and I had to give you some encouragement, who better to choose than the coolest Brit of all :).

Yes, go get some sleep, but before you wake up, make sure you leave all the negative thoughts in your dreams. You are here with us, we are ok !

EDIT: after Sir Roger Moore passed, in one biography I found out that they actually used real crocodiles to film that scene :o

Or...the journey may seem much harder than it actually is.  Just relax and all will be well.

He was one of the better Bonds. A sterling choice there, sir. We seem to be losing all the greats over these few years. Very sad indeed. If we could wrap Stan Lee in a protective bubble now, please? 😥

Yeah, you seem a good bunch. Very helpful. I couldn't be anymore grateful for all you all do 😆
