I heard Tagalog on the way back home from work today! Been a while since I've heard it in public. I don't understand it apart from a couple words, but I can definitely recognize it. Spent 4 months in Manila back in 2013 for an internship. 

 

Those words you write are the most important anyway, my fiance knows those in Dutch at least as well

See, if I wanted to really impress my love I'd learn Ilocano, but I REALLY don't see that happening, no real study aids there.

Not to watch 90 days fiancee is good advice! I stumbled upon it recently and thought it would be nice for me (the beneficiary) to get a feel of how it might be, but oh boy was I wrong.  One episode was more than enough.

I'm not too surprised by that.  The guy who was afraid to eat lechon was real!!!  My first trip I took all the shots and spent the entire time like a fish out of water.  Now I show up in shorts and 2 pairs of sandals, one for inside and one for outside!!!!

 

Now I've had lechon and balut and LOVE everything about the culture.

Greetings from Germany. My application was received June 27th. Still got no notification pertaining to the remaining time frame. Quite annoying since I would love to slip into "bride mode" and plan my wedding, send out invitations, have family and friends from Europe start planning their trips for the festivities, etc. I will be celebrating in Florida and was hoping for a ceremony next April... i don't know how realistic that is😂😭 on another note I did have to apply for a waiver since I had a small get together with US law enforcement about 10 years ago (nothing crazy so don't go assuming I'm a maniacal killer of some kind 🙈)   

I recently discovered this thread and wanted to join. Its quite difficult going through this process... feels like I get asked about once a week, every week from another person about my wedding plans. My answer always remains the same "oh just waiting for a notification, until then I halted the planning"

@MarksMate I hope so too!  I'm interested to see what the wait times end up being at the AKL embassy for an interview - very short for nonimmigrants but they don't give a K-1 estimate.  My fiancé is hoping to move before New Year's...and despite my best efforts, I can't temper his optimism!  Don't think it'll happen that quickly, but stranger things have happened, I guess
