So, apparently USCIS is holding a social media "Ask USCIS" on Facebook today. Don't know how legit it will actually be, but they are posting it on Twitter as well to spread the word. If anyone has Facebook, I suggest getting on there and voicing your opinions or questions

They did this recently on twitter and just avoided any of the awkward questions... or they used the "You need to call the customer serve line for that information"...

Was pretty useless, but worth a look maybe

That sounds about right. Or I'm sure they'll just give a BS answer. But, who knows..

It’s a perfect opportunity to express legitimate concerns backed up by fax as opposed to just venting like we do on here, LOL! I hope some good questions get put out there and hopefully some good answers come back to us.

Perhaps... do different departments  handle different visa types or is there an allotted number of adjudicators who work within each category or is it based on the volume of applications and more adjudicators are placed in those areas?

Yep, I know my first question will be about the processing time and when can we expect faster times. I'm being optimistic but hopefully we'll get better answers than within normal times. I say we all get on there and flood them with these questions!

Good questions would be : Are they analyzing the RFEs, seeing any trends, considering mods to forms to get better results from petitioners.  The big waste in this system I see is the RFEs.  The instructions should be clear cut and it would be a good public service to get out memos talking about common errors that they are seeing. It would help them pump out higher numbers and would help settle down ansy petitioners. Running longer than 6 months on a K-1 requires some Congressional attention in my opinion.

& What about the threat of a Government shutdown now on December 8th?

I was afraid someone was going to bring that up!  Yep, there is that possibility.  It would include USCIS, NVC and Embassy staff.  Oh course many others too.  Only essential personnel would be on the clock.  I don't think it will happen but it is certainly a possibility.

Ignorance is bliss, but I would rather be informed to know what I (we) are dealing with....

Yes.  That is not always good news here but we are all better off knowing what is going on or may go on!
