I-129F checklist on VJ needs updating?

Sucks not having a search option for this forum specifically without using the Google search bar on here.  But I noticed that the checklist mentions:

4.

Declaration of how you met in person in the last two years. This should be a single typed page attachment regarding question '34.a' of the I-129F. Make sure to sign an date it.

The only part regarding this talks about the evidence for an ongoing relationship. Does everyone still type up a page explaining how they met in the first place? I imagine most

answers are going to be that it can't hurt, so this is likely what I will do, just to add to the credibility area.  Amazing how you notice older videos and instructions show a 6 page I-129F and now its 13 pages, unless I was mistakenly looking at something different.

The official guide here is slightly outdated. They updated the form a couple months ago. The guide is actually still valid for the old form, which is still accepted until this Friday. Hopefully somebody updates it once that period has passed.

The latest (i.ed. "current") I-129F has a section to describe how you first met in person. You can use that space, Part 8, and/or a separate sheet of paper. They just need the info. I only used the space on the I-129F w/ a very short description (2 short sentences) and had no issues with that. Others have written a good portion of a page of text.

There is no requirement to provide evidence of an ongoing relationship with the I-129F. The requirement is to show evidence that the beneficiary and petitioner met in person at least once within the past 2 years. Ongoing relationship evidence is required for the visa interview later. You can provide some now ("front load" the petition), but it's not required (although it's generally needed for a handful of high fraud embassies). Either way, more recent evidence would still be needed for the interview.

The 2 x G-325As are no longer needed with the latest I-129F. The questions from them are incorporated into the I-129F...a major reason for the increase in form length.

Ah! Now I see.  I guess I can delete my G-325A that I had filled out.  I guess it simplifies the amount of separate forms to use.  I'm glad you mentioned that, otherwise I wouldn't have even verified it on the governments site either. I did wonder after looking at it all, why they would ask for repetitive info.

As for the proof, I shall save the convos and such for the interview. I have set aside and copied 8 photos, and the flight tickets for the evidence. Guess it can't hurt to show the pages of the passport as well.  Thanks for the info.

P.S. I still haven't seen any section on the 129F instructing me to explain how we met.  Only to explain our in-person meeting with evidence.

No worries. Yeah, a lot of sites haven't updated yet. But it's no longer listed in the I-129F's instructions or the USCIS page for the I-129F (only an outdated checklist is left that refers to the old form).

Cool. The photos + tickets/boarding passes + passport stamps are good. If you have anything else (hotel invoices, receipts, etc.) then that's good too. They take the evidence of meeting within 2 years strictly. I'm not implying you don't have enough as-is, but if you have anything else that puts you two in the same location at the same time, it won't hurt to add that too.

Ah, I see what you mean. Part 2, Question 54 only asks about the first in-person meeting. It wouldn't hurt to briefly describe the first contact (and to provide evidence that it's not through an IMB). Below is what I put on mine for reference. I also included evidence that OKCupid is not an IMB (ToS + an email from customer service stating they are not an IMB).

"We met via the OKCupid free website, then met in xxx on x/x/xx through x/xx. We also met on x/x/xx in xxx, and on x/xx/xx in xxx."

Good stuff. Yeah I stayed with them in their apartment the whole time. Only maybe have a couple of reciepts from the layover in Shanghai before going to S. Korea which Im sure is no good. I'll see if there is anything else. But I also included the plane tickets to Seoul from Jeju when I flew with her and her family up to there for a few days. They basically wouldnt let me pay for anything, so I didnt have many reciepts lol. They were so inviting. Im sure with what I have so far would be enough but I will look again.

I'll also do what you said about mentioning the dating site we met.

Thanks!
