Philippine DCF

Hi All-

Thought I'd post this again since the forums crashed right after my post! I filed my I-130 at the embassy in Manila in Nov. of 2005 for my wife because I was a resident there. They accepted the documents and I paid the filing fee.

Since we haven't heard anything yet I am of course panicking even though I know Manila is bogged down! Does anyone know if they send notification through the mail or do they actually call you on the phone? My wife hasn't heard anything and I am now back in the States establishing my domicile. The address and phone # are both in the Philippines and my wife is there but no word.

I guess my question is if something were wrong we would have heard something, right?

And should I just e-mail the field office to inquire?

And one more... any ideas on the timeframe for approval? The lady was a little short with me but said 3 to 5 months.

Any thoughts or info or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and good preparation and luck to everyone!

Have you looked at the Manila web site to see if there is any information there about DCF? There is a link on their web site that shows the monthly case interview load but because I don't know anything about how DCFs are processed maybe those cases aren't listed there. Manila has slowed way down for fiancee visas, it used to only be a couple of months to get an interview and now it is taking 6 months. Good luck
