Ontario Makes Disapproval Of Kid’s Gender Choice Potential Child Abuse

When the state wants to raise your kids..

Ontario passed a law Thursday that gives the government the right to take away children from families that don’t accept their kid’s chosen “gender identity.”

Parents who oppose or criticize the LGBT agenda will be considered potential “child abusers” and may have their children taken away by the state, according to the new bill. If the parents are ruled to be abusers by failing to wholeheartedly support their child’s gender choice, that child “can be removed from that environment and placed into protection where the abuse stops.”

Bill 89, also known as “The Supporting Children, Youth and Families Act of 2017,” received Royal Assent and was passed in Ontario by a vote of 63 to 23.

The old law allowed parents to “direct the child’s education and religious upbringing” but now says a parent must influence a child’s education and upbringing “in accordance with the child’s or young person’s creed, community identity and cultural identity.”

+1 worked!

It's utterly weird that the state wants more work to do.. aren't they supposed to be busy with other things?

Apparently not in Ontario.  Don't they also have the smoke police?  Now they can create the gender identity police.

I never agreed with parents who didn't support their children's decision, but this is so laughable...it would be much more laughable if it wasn't so sad and pathetic though.

I agree completely.  Yes, all children are different and they go through many changes as they grow.  This Law seems to presuppose that their psyche is completely formed at whatever age someone (read the state) will determine.

If children were mentally developed and responsible enough to the point where they could make life changing adult decisions like gender selection, then they should also be voting, drinking, and serving in the military. There are reasons why children do not get to make adult decisions until they are a certain age (18-21) and even then I wonder if it's still too young for a lot of people. To think that a child is intelligent enough to make a decision to change their gender is silly.

While I support my kids on whatever decision they need to make, I also think you need to grow up some before you make certain types of decisions. With gender identification there is the added concern that it's part of the process of growing up and developing, so it's a fine line to be walked, and I would agree that parents need to err on the side of caution. It's a very fine line to walk, and unfortunately, kids don't come with manuals, so as a parent, you've got to figure it out as you go.

I feel like a TON of kids are somewhat "gender-bending" (aka girls who are tomboys or boys who want to play dress up or whatever) as kids. I don't know that it necessarily means that they will end up being transendered, moreso that they are exploring creative boundaries and their own identities as they grow and learn! I would think most parents would probably love their kids enough to embrace the fact that kids are kids and the law shouldn't really even need to get involved..
