Congratulations! I'm so very happy for you. However, I admit that I feel envious every time I see someone gets their interview while we, those who applied from Texas, are indefinitely stuck in a damn limbo. The waiting is so depressing.

Hello from Russian Arizona Limbo... :) Still waiting for the interview date as well.

Your Field Office (I assume it's Phoenix?) processing time is well ahead of Houston, where I am. I believe you should expect your interview notice any day now. Houston office keeps blaming the Hurricane Harvey and "snow days" (1.5 days in December with laughable 0.5" of snow) for their inconceivable backlog.

Good luck to you!

Hello everyone,

I've been waiting for 196 days for I-485 (Last update: Response to USCIS' Request for evidence was received) and 235 days for I-130 (Last update: case was received).

My PD is June 30, 2017 (NBC). I noticed most June or even July filers had their NOA2 already. I got my EAD/AP in September 2017 (Requested expedite service). Is it a normal time frame for an approval? Which one to get approve first? I-485 or I-130?

What will happen if I apply for graduate school while AOS is in progress? Will I get student visa during this period? Would I be qualified for in-state tuition?

Is it better to wait for the green card?

Any thoughts comments, suggestions would be appreciated ! Thanks

Do you mean I-131? They won't touch that because your I-765 EAD/AP Card Combo means you got approved for I-131 Advanced Parole as well.

As for the I-485, it's different depending on which local office is responsible for processing it. Other people wait for more than a year to close than 2 years. So it's all about patience from here on.

Yeah. It can take a while. It depends from state to state. Chances are your local office already have your papers and they just have a ginormous backlog.

I need your help friends.

I am AOS from H1B so i had my medical on march 6th 2017 and  i have my AOS interview on March 22 2018. Do i need to do my medical again before the interview to avoid any RFEs?

Is there a expire date for Medical?

Did you have your medical overseas? The I-693 instructions state you need to file for AOS within 1 year of the overseas medical, ie the medical it doesn't 'expire'. Although it is a bit of a grey area. I would print the instructions out and bring them to the interview if this applies (you may need to fight your corner).

If you had your medical in the US then I'm not familiar with that process, sorry

Thanks in Advance!

Here is my review I posted a few months ago

She said we will need to be put under oath so we stood up and raised our right hand etc. She had a huge file in front of her with what looked like everything we'd ever submitted. I remember seeing a flash of our I-129F passport photos.

She asked us both for all IDs we had, she wanted passports and asked if we had any government-issued drivers licenses. Then she asked if we had any USCIS issued paperwork to which I replied 'yes loads' and we laughed. She took my photo on a little webcam thing and took my left and right index fingerprints.

She went through some basic details, asked for

My full legal name

Country of citizenship

Town I was born

My parents names

Where I live & who else lives there (I said my wife and our cat)

Have I lived anywhere else in the US.

Where I entered the US last, the date I entered, if I had been to the US before

Asked me for my wife's full legal name and date of birth

She basically went through the whole of my I-485 and then each time I gave the correct answer she would tick the I-485 in front of her. She went through the entire yes/no tick boxes about terrorism/espionage etc (this took quite a long time with me just replying No over and over).

Then she asked my wife a few details, asked if she had gone by any other names (ie maiden name), if she had visited England before.

She then asked if we were renting and asked for our lease agreement, I asked if she want the original or the copy and she took the copy. I pointed out that some evidence we had still showed my wife's maiden name and she said this was fine.

Then she said is there any other evidence we want to submit. I gave her our joint bank and credit card statements, she asked if we had credit/debit cards which she asked to see. We also gave her our joint health insurance summary, showed her our joint costco cards, a wedding card from my parents, then showed her photos from our honeymoon in vegas/california roadtrip. She asked us about some photos and where they were taken (she seemed genuinely curious - not trying to catch us out or anything).

All in all it was very straightforwad

Hope this helps

Hey guys,

So my interview date is fast approaching (March 22) and a lot of other people's interview dates are also on that day. I just want to make sure that the supporting evidence we have are enough for us to not get denied or whatever.

So far we have the following:

 - Joint bank account info

 - Tax Return with both of our names

 - Lease contract for the apartment

 - Renter's insurance with both our names on it

I also don't have a state ID/driver's license yet. I just got so focused on looking for a job that I didn't bother going to the DMV (I don't have a car yet anyway).

Thanks a lot in advance for the responses!

Bobby
