For those who received their EAD and had informed delivery, could you please check if it was priority mail and insured for $100? Please confirm as this is what I am seeing on my USPS informed delivery and It’s coming fast. It will be delivered this weekend.

Thank you. I have feeling that’s what it is, uscis may not insure or use priority mail for RFE

I wouldn't think so, I believe that RFE come in a normal letter, just like all the I-797 (NOAs) the only mail that I got that was insured for a $100.00 and priority mail was my EAD... The best part was I was expecting it to arrive Monday and the USPS delivered it Saturday 2 hours after my usual mailmen assed by :D...so you'll probably get it today or tomorrow at the latest!

Later!

Hi all,

I had my AOS interview last week, although I got an RFE I thought I'd share my experience of the interview itself.

My interview was at 8am in Spokane. It's about a 20 minute drive from where we live, so me and my wife arrived around  7 and waited in the mall near the USCIS. It's in a courthouse so we go through airport security about 7:40 and go to the waiting room. The sign says there's no need to check in if you have an interview, so we sat in the waiting room. At 8 the lady called my name and took us both to the back.

She said we will need to be put under oath so we stood up and raised our right hand etc. She had a huge file in front of her with what looked like everything we'd ever submitted. I remember seeing a flash of our I-129F passport photos.

She asked us both for all IDs we had, she wanted passports and asked if we had any government-issued drivers licenses. Then she asked if we had any USCIS issued paperwork to which I replied 'yes loads' and we laughed. She took my photo on a little webcam thing and took my left and right index fingerprints.

She went through some basic details, asked for

My full legal name

Country of citizenship

Town I was born

My parents names

Where I live & who else lives there (I said my wife and our cat)

Have I lived anywhere else in the US.

Where I entered the US last, the date I entered, if I had been to the US before

Asked me for my wife's full legal name and date of birth

She basically went through the whole of my I-485 and then each time I gave the correct answer she would tick the I-485 in front of her. She went through the entire yes/no tick boxes about terrorism/espionage etc (this took quite a long time with me just replying No over and over).

Then she asked my wife a few details, asked if she had gone by any other names (ie maiden name), if she had visited England before.

She then asked if we were renting and asked for our lease agreement, I asked if she want the original or the copy and she took the copy. I pointed out that some evidence we had still showed my wife's maiden name and she said this was fine.

Then she said is there any other evidence we want to submit. I gave her our joint bank and credit card statements, she asked if we had credit/debit cards which she asked to see. We also gave her our joint health insurance summary, showed her our joint costco cards, a wedding card from my parents, then showed her photos from our honeymoon in vegas/california roadtrip. She asked us about some photos and where they were taken (she seemed genuinely curious - not trying to catch us out or anything).

All in all it was very straightforward and fairly casual for the most part. It lasted about 20 minutes. We were only asked very basic questions just to see if our answers matched the paperwork. We were recommended for approval but given an RFE.

Good luck to everyone waiting for their interview, you will be fine

Hi! What do you men recommend for approval but given rfe? After the interview did you receive something? Or before? Thanks

Hello everyone... our date of interview is coming...so nervous...from your experience, do officer ask more questions to beneficiary or petitioner ? And had anyone been approved recently with the age difference 12-15 years? Husband is older of course. Have all documents, confirmations, but still nervous.. thanks in advance for your answers☺️

After the interview I got an RFE in the post. She said the interview itself was 'approved' ie she's satisfied the marriage is genuine, but she couldn't approve the case cause she found an issue for which she would send an RFE.

I'm sure most interviews don't get an RFE and are approved, I was just unlucky.

For me she asked about 2/3rds of general questions to me the beneficiary at the start. Then after thisshe went through the entire i-485 so that was entirely asking me

I'm about 4.5 years older than my wife. I'm sure if your marriage is genuine you will have no trouble. Questions are very basic

If you are worried about your age difference I should be terrified as my husband is 28 years older than me as of right now :D I should be even more worried if my interview is scheduled to happen after 11/15 (probably certain) because then he'll be 29 years older than me B-)

The thing is, before applying we went to an immigration lawyer that was completely honest and said that the age difference would not make any difference in our case because we have a pretty strong and long relationship (we met in 2010 online and in person in 2012 with many visits through the years) he actually said "I'll not sit here and say that you guys need a lawyer because I strongly believe that this is not the case, but if you feel that you need or want one you know where to find me" this guy was so great that he didn't even charged us for the consultation, he said it was so close to to our wedding day he would make it wedding gift   I was so amazed that if something goes south and we end up in need of a lawyer he is the one we'll use for sure.

I don't think that the age difference should be a concern IF you have a solid relationship.

Good luck and make sure you have all the evidence ready ahead of time. ;)
