That's fine he doesn't need to apply for a new card. I would wait until you get the GC to go back and remove the conditions on the card. Right now it probably says can't work without authorization. If you apply for new one with EAD it will say same thing. EAD counts as a list A document. Hope this helps.

This is from USCIS website:

LIST A DOCUMENTS

Documents that Establish Both Identity and Employment Authorization

The documents on List A show both identity and employment authorization. Employees presenting an acceptable List A document should not be asked to present any other document. Some List A documents are in fact a combination of 2 or more documents. In these cases, the documents presented together count as one List A document.

Thank you!!!

So if we have not received an interview date by now, should we assume that we may not get one?

I think some of us may have an interview and some of us not. I think is also possible that with the new immigration restrictions soon nobody will get interview waived. I've read in other AOS threads that you could even still get a RFE for I-485 after your EAD was issued. I guess it all depends of each one case.

I think that it does make a lot of sense since they are two separate processes.

I don't think so, I just think that they are taking a long time to process it all I have no chance of having a interview waiver and I'm still at "Fingerprint fee was received"...You might get a waiver but it will depend on your office.

I didn’t get them until the card was ordered. But if you check on the website, select the I-765 case and under case history you should see SR updates.

When waiting for pending cases to update status, now we have more SRs to wait for assignment.  Lol

Nothing change after raising request for a week. Keep waiting. Sigh.
