Ha well I'd like to work there just so I understand what takes them so long. So many cases untouched for months on end...

Would you rather have an interview or have it waived? I've heard an interview makes the process faster.

I didn't know you could have interview waived!! :o But I'm not opposed to having an interview. Whatever is faster :D

The interview is faster for sure! So instead of crossing fingers not to get an interview, start praying that you do lol.

AOS from K-1 are eligible to to have an interview waived. Some are and some aren't, but I think it is fairly common.

Even if your status already says 'ready to schedule interview' it can still be waived. But if your interview is waived it will take longer to get your green card. They should approve you on the spot at your interview

I had my biometrics appointment 35 days ago, but my online status is still "Fingerprint Fee Was Received". Is it normal for there to be this much wait between biometrics and "Interview is ready to be scheduled"? I see filers in the July thread going from biometrics appointment to interview ready to be scheduled in less time.

Some people don't get any online status change even when they've already been scheduled for interview. In my case, however, it took 60+ days for my status to change from FP fee received to ready to be scheduled. So I would advise you not to worry and just be patient (even though it's frustrating)

I'm in the same situation as you. I had my biometrics taken 43 days ago with no case update, very annoying

23 days after biometric and no update yet. I went for my driver's permit test yesterday, but was unable to take the test because my status is still pending. The driving department said they will send a letter to USCIS for update, after which I will be able to take the test. The wait is just fustrating.

Who else go for driving license while waiting on USCIS, please share your experience.

Of course your status is still pending, once it's approved then you get the green card immediately.  Anyone with pending Adjustment of Status application has legal status. And you are in Texas like me, I went to the DPS same day I did biometrics and I have Drivers License in hand.

My husband took his drivers test in Maryland with only his NOA1 and his I94. They gave him a 10 month license no problem or issues.

Which was good because we were hit by another driver a week later (everyone was okay and he was not at fault) but all we could think about was "thank goodness we followed Maryland law", and he wasn't driving on his Australian license anymore (which had just expired by Maryland law).

I'm adjusting from a tourist visa and my I-94 was expired since February 26, when I got my NOA1 I went to DMV with high hopes and it paid off, I spent about 1 hour and a half there (the lady that took me, wasn't sure of how to proceed with the expired I-94), affecter reading the procedures she realized that I could get the drivers license and that DMV would check my status with USCIS and for this reason I would not leave with my drivers license card, but with a provisory one. She explained that it would take up to 60 days to get my DL by mail but it actually took 44 days for the status of my DL change from "we are currently checking your legal status" to " Your card was printed and mailed...".

If you can't do it in one location, just try another one, if the lady that did my DL wasn't so nice and patient she would refuse me in a heart beat (a friend of hers actually told her to just stop the thing because my I-94 been expired I couldn't have a drivers lice no matter what)...she was determined to help me!.

Good luck!

I'm on day 77 since PD and 56 days since fingerprint was done and no updates for me either...in this journey we have to be very patient and have a lot of faith...the secret is to try and do things that makes your mind get away of the thoughts...I'm doing so many little projects in my house lately, made myself a beautiful closet that would probably cost me about $2,500.00 if it was made by professionals and I made it all for less than $200.00 and it took me 2 weeks to complete the task (2 weeks not thinking about AOS :)), I'm a handy woman and I love to do this kind of things. By the time that I get my EAD and I can work my house will be exactly the way I want without breaking the bank!

Try to keep busy and you'll have your update in no time!

Peace!!!

Just reached day 90, I haven't done SR or anything other than wait and check on this forum once in a while. The status is still the same, they received 485/130/765, no other changes like case ready to be scheduled for interview like so many people that filed after me already have. Will wait 10 more days and if no changes I will submit a SR.
