Hey guys!

I was wondering, while waiting on an EAD if my husband is allowed to apply for jobs; We are on day 70 of waiting. I see some people who have job offers but still waiting on the work permit.

Yes, he can apply at anytime. He cannot accept though until he has his EAD. In fact, he can use a job offer to expedite the EAD.

Still waiting as well. We need this card because we need a second income in the house ASAP. We are more eager for the EAD over the permanent residence card right now lol

Hi all I have some updates for you!

EAD expediting request:

On Aug 2nd I have called Uscis and requested to expedited due to sever personal financial loss. I have been in the US since February and didn't work at all, quit my job and was eating all my savings to pay my student loan. I did go to a job interview which I received a request for SNN from in order to do a background check. So I explained it all to the representative on the phone which raises the SR and told me to wait up to 10 days for additional information.

Got an email back 4th of Aug requesting me to fax all the evidence to them, which I did by the end of that day- bank account balance, loan information, a cover letter that explains the situation and the email from the employer asking for the SSN to start process and offer Job after background check.

Same day the case was transferred to an officer and closed.

Waited till Aug 10 and called again, they know nothing at the call center, you will need to request to escalate to an officer which will have all the information.

I have been approved but it will take another 10 days to get it updated in the system.

Keep a close look on your case, expediting does not hurt your timeline!

Btw, my husband is the petitioner and he is the only one on our affidavit of support. I have seen people saying that he has to provide and since he is the only one we will not get approved for expediting. NOT TRUE!

Hope I helped!

Hi!! You can get SSN using your single name as it might be easier if you don't plan on applying for AOS so soon. Next will be getting marriage license then get married! Saw you're from Philippines. I'm a filipino, too! You can message me anytime if you have questions 😊

Hi! I had the same questions,

So first-They have no direct phone number and do not receive calls at all. I tried to email them back but got no answer so you can try but I doubt anything will happen.

I did call the Uscis call center and requested to escalate a week later so I can know that the fax came through. They referred my to Tier 2 Immigration officer that did say it was approved and I will get an updated in the mail in 10 days, so soon:)

Try and call the Uscis call center and get them to escalate your case so you can get answers. Let me know if you need anything else. Oh and keep us updated😎
