i just got RFE in my mail and it's for I-485.  The last transcript we send it was for 2015. I guess i'm just gonna print out tax return transcript for 2016. we have to include w-2 too. I just don't understand why they marked that income did not meet 125% of the poverty guideline for the petitioner household size... Our income is way above that

Do you think they will check only petitioner income and not combined income? I am also waiting for the RFE letter in mail it is for I-485.

i don't have any income it's just my wife's but it's way above time line. In I-864 form we put most recent tax year 2016 and 2015, and we put total income but didn't send tax return for 2016 just 2015, but even then it was way above.

As far as the form goes, I think they will check the combined gross household income. We submitted my husband's most recent tax return (2016 tax return since filed late May -- way after Tax Day) along with the corresponding W2. We also included my husband's employment letter since we were using this year's (2017) gross income. He's the sole source of our household income. No RFEs so far.

Did anyone who filed early June get an RFE? No news on my end yet but I'm still anxious about getting one 😅

I think if you don't include at least the latest year which is 2016 then they can't verify your income, an employment letter is important but the latest year tax returns or transcripts is what they ask for. Send the transcripts. Good luck!

The directions on the form stated you MUST include the most recent tax year which would be 2016 and the form instructions stated to include the most recent W-2 from employer or 1099 if contracted/self employed from 2016. It also suggests to send it the three most recent years of tax returns if possible. It also suggested adding paystubs from the past 6 months.

Filed: K-1 Visa Country: United Kingdom
Timeline

Hey everyone, I was hoping to get some advice on my case! Here is my timeline so far:

Adjustment of Status
Event Date
CIS Office : San Antonio TX
Date Filed : 2016-01-21
NOA Date : 2016-01-25
RFE(s) : 2016-03-05
Bio. Appt. : 2017-05-04

So its been 536 days since we initially filed our paperwork for AOS from a K1 visa  on Jan 21, 2016 and we are over the average processing times, yet no one seems to be able to help us. I have tried talking with our state rep, our ombudsman, called USCIS on the phone multiple times, and have filed multiple online case inquiries,  and when we went down to the USCIS service center for biometrics no one would tell us anything either. I am at a loss as to why our case is taking so long and why no one will help us. On our case inquires, the few times that they have responded all they have said is "due to work factors unrelated to your case, expect a delay" and then there was one that said if you haven't heard anything in 90 days please contact us, but still nothing. Not only that, but it took 16 months to even receive a biometrics appointment.

He came on a K-1 visa from the United Kingdom and I even have a co sponsor, I am in San Antonio, Tx. If there is any advice y'all can give me or anything that will help please write me.

I've already sent paustubs from the past 6 months. So i will just send 2016 tax transcript, w-2, and bank statements for last 12 months.
