Hi everyone

Just need some thoughts:

My wife is American and has applied for my CR1 visa. The case is currently at NVC. Expecting everything to be completed within 2-3 months.

My parents already got their tourist visa at the start of the year. I was hoping my sister would get a tourist visa so she can visit in the near future.

In her DS-160 application, I have put my wife (her sister in law) as the US point of contact. So basically the case is that she can visit the US along with my parents.

Now my question is: Is it OK to have her sister-in-law as point of contact or should we wait till I get my CR1 visa and put me (her brother) as a US point of contact? Which looks better and has more chances of approval?

Thanks guys. I do understand that certainly.

Would appreciate your insight on some facts about her and the possible outcome:

-Age 36

-parents are old and sick so they need care

-dependent on parents for financial support (family is well off by Pakistani standards)

-No work experience but holds masters degree (common in my country for girls to be homemakers)

-unmarried

So the ties to home country are mostly old age parents, their care and managing their financial aspects.

Any remarks?

She is unlikely to get a visitor visa.

Your parents are traveling to the US.  She can provide the care they need in the US.

She is dependent on her parents and therefore has no means to fund her own trip.  Dependency on parents that are going to the US doesn't help.

She is unemployed.  That's not good either.

No husband.  No children.  No anchors for her to go back to.

So what if the parents do not travel to the US?

If she travels alone, is that a good tie to her country?

Traveling alone or with parents doesn't really change anything.

They want to see reasons why the applicant will return to his/her home country due to strong ties that are keeping them there.

If your parents were able to get the visa, that might be positive (in that they thought they had strong ties, so maybe think about the information they presented and if she has some of that).

Does she have any property? If she manages your parents' assents, can they transfer some assets to her?

Transferring assets will be viewed as a desperate trick to get a visitor visa.  This will not work.  It can backfire dramatically.

Maybe not if she goes the day after to get a visa, but it can help in the medium term as proof. OP says she could visit in "the near future" and he still has several months waiting for his own visa.  She is handling everything anyway, at least as the OP puts it.

It's much harder to get a tourist visa for a single female.  That's an extra burden, besides the ties.  Plus, once you will be living there, she will have family, making it even easier to stay in the US.

Honestly, it's a long shot that she will get a tourist visa.

There have been plenty of people who have tried the asset transfer trick.  The US Embassy is not so easily fooled.
