I posted this earlier and I'm hopeful I'll get some replies, but I thought I'd turn to you for some expertise. Thanks in advance!

I have multiple questions. I've looked through multiple posts about both of my questions, but they were dated years ago and I'm wondering if anything has changed.

1. My fiance received a new passport a few days ago. On his DS-160, it still has his old passport number listed. Is it okay to create a new DS-160 to fix this? Is it even necessary? I've read it's okay to just take the old passport as well as the new one, and they can change it there. I've also read posts where they were turned away for this and asked to create a new DS-160 and return for a new appointment. Our interview is next week.

2. I was able to pay the courier fee, but not the actual visa fee. There was never an option to do so. How can I rectify this? I've read it's okay to create a new account, but I'm worried that will mess up our interview date somehow, or make us reschedule.

Thanks again!

Hi, I'm not sure if you've found the answer to this or not, but...

I had this exact same problem. I did my DS160 and readiness form, and followed the links that were given to me. I made an account, put all my information in, and selected the interview date that I wanted - 21st June. However, it didn't give me the option to pay. I called them (took 3 frustrating attempts to speak to an actual person) and it turns out that there was something wrong with their link system. It never gave me the option to select a K1 interview, and once I had gone through to the confirmation page, it gave me the option to track my DS260 not 160. It was a mistake, and I had to make a new account and start over. It worked, but I had to select a much later interview date due to lack of availability, which was really disappointing.

I hope you've got this figured out now, and sorry to hear you've had the same problem I did. Best of luck.

Was that in London or another consulate?

In the FAQs on the London website it says this about the DS-260 (spouse visa application) which could apply to the DS-160 (fiancé visa application) as well:

If you have made an error when completing the DS-260 you are required to correct the error and re-transmit it if the error concerns the Background and Security questions or passport number.  Please contact us through our website as we will be required to unlock your case before you can amend the information.  If the error is in the biographic details, you may notify the consular officer on the day of your interview and take no further action.

Problem is, you have left this to 2 days before interview and they don't always reply to the contact form emails on the same day.

Paying--there is a cashier window where DCF applicants still pay on the day of interview. At the window (the first time called up for documents) when you have no payment receipt, they will send you to the cashier to pay and bring the receipt back to their window before you will be called to the interview.

Yep, exactly the same situation just happened to us. Our interview had to be rescheduled because of an error on their end. sigh. Oh, well. It's only a few weeks after the original date, so not much harm done! Sorry to hear this happened to you, but glad to know I'm not alone! Thanks for the reply.
