Hello all,

We are in the process for IR-1 / CR-1 Visa and our application moved to NVC and they sent us a check list of documents to prepare

two of the items are Court Records & Police Certificate, I find problem understanding what should i prepare and where/how to get that documents in Egypt

I think "Police Certificate" is the document we get from police station "فيش و تشبيه" is it ? if yes it is required to say to whom it is addressed, what should be said then ?

I have no ideas what is the "Court Records" and how to get them ?

Thanks, best regards :)

Hi @eslam-mahmoud

Yes, you will get the 'Police Certificate' at police station which is "فيش و تشبيه" , you will tell them that it is for the US Embassy in Cairo. The 'Court Records' are needed  only if you were ever jailed or imprisoned. If you were never jailed or imprisoned then you will not need this and on the Checklist received from NVC you would mark this as N/A.

Best of luck to you :)

Thanks @Ahmed & Amy i have never jailed or imprisoned but should not i include a doc confirm or state that ?

You're welcomed.

You would not include the court record because you were never imprisoned/jailed. No you do not need any document that states you were not imprisoned. When you provide your police certificate it would specify if you had committed any crimes or not.

On the NVC conversheet that was provided for you, you would mark the court record as N/A (Not Applicable)
