So only a true Leftist can be empathetic?  Personally I hate Twitter and find it rather childish, so I can agree with you that anything Trump, or anyone for that matter tweets should not be taken seriously, but I don't think you can equate that with empathy for the people of London, or of any other locale that suffers some kind of attack, or natural disaster.  Bush was lambasted by the Left for not going to NO immediately after Katrina, and only doing a fly by so-to-speak, but what would have been accomplished by him going there then, nothing other than a disruption of the services in place.  When will the politicians on both sides in Washington and other world capitals grow up?

I don't know.  I don't have a twitter account and therefore, don't follow everyone.  I only know about Trump's tweets because every tweet gets heavy media coverage and threads like these. I'm sure there are a few tweeters who post meaningful useful information, but again, I cannot be sure.

My point was trying to equate the biased media reporting of Trump's tweets to his empathy is rather insincere.  You, nor me have any idea how he feels in his heart, and if we only use those reports to try and form a picture it is just wrong.

Numerous documented reports of past business practices at the expense of individuals, numerous reports of sexual harassment, even boasting of harassment of women, verbal attacks on others based on their heritage, firings of judicial heads due to personal interest, and knee-jerk reaction to criticism at the expense of all of the above of tends to paint that image of someone.  

 

I have yet to see true empathy displayed.  

 

I'd be happy to change my image of him if he does display it though.

Maybe it will be a big wake up to both parties and they will put viable candidates forward. But I wouldn't be trusting the media next time around neither, they got it so wrong it was unbelievable.

I really do have a problem with how much we blame everything on the media.  Why?  Because nothing can get accomplished by focusing on this.  Does the media blow things out of proportion and demonstrate bias?  Yes, of course.  I've seen people complain about the media from the left, I've seen people complain about the media from the right.  I've seen Donald Trump complain about the media, I've seen Hillary Clinton complain about the media.  Bill Clinton complained about the media.   George W complained about the media.  Everybody complains about the media.  But, guess what, there is nothing we can do about it.  We have free speech and it is what it is.

 

What we really need to do is point to ourselves for listening to the media and voting the way we do that get these guys in office as a result.  WE are the ones directly to blame and WE are the ones that can fix things.  This is the only mindset that can change things.
