Helo everyone! My fiancée available I come tax return is 2015 only since deadline for payment of 2016 is April but he requested for an extension to settle 2016 taxes . My question is can I use the 2015 income tax return RE: Affidavit of Support during visa interview

I submitted proof of my taxes being extended. Also submitted some of the 2016 tax backup documents such as a W2 and 10-99. Suggest submitting whatever you have available. He can ask his accountant for a copy of the extension letter. 

 

I did not submit my 2016 taxes as still being worked on. It wasn't a problem. Every consulate is different though so would ask people from your country.

April 29, 2020 - Check cashed
??? - didn’t receive text or email confirmation. Ugh!

It's all a judgement call.  If the sponsor has a good job and income for a long time, then filing an extension is not a problem.  However, most folks who file extensions are either self employed or have complicated returns rather than simply employed people.  My general advice is the year you're sponsoring your spouse to immigrate, you file on time, because not doing so is likely to delay a visa decision until the 2016 return is made available for review.
