The latter was invoked a few years ago the same way for every nominee except SCOTUS, so that's moot, and reconciliation is limited.. it's not the same as normal bills and the scope of use is severely limited. So yes, Democrats still are able to block his agenda. See: Wall/PP. Legislative filibuster is unfortunately still a usable tool to bring the GOP's bills to a halt.

Never said the filibuster can't still be used on some things.

Although your favorite president does want to eliminate that as well.

Reconciliation can be used one time a year, and is extremely limited in it's use (e.g. budget bills), whereas filibuster can be used the other 5000-6000 times a year and is not limited in it's use.

Latching on what you can eh?  Have a trophy.

At any rate, interesting note:

Number of filibusters used since Trump took office:  0

Number of times congress has bypassed potential filibusters:  1, with the next 2 on track for bypassal as well.

Yes, I do realize that no bills have passed for the president to sign, period, so I wanted to state the obvious before you decide to snatch and gleam on that as well.

By the way, for the record, I am actually in favor of eliminating the filibuster altogether.  I know that liberals would gasp at such a suggestion, but I tend to look at things from a long term perspective more than the average person.  This is why I argue so vehemently against human-caused global warming, for one.  Yes, ending the filibuster for legislative purposes would result in horrible pieces of legislation brought on by our corporate lapdogs for the time being, but once the backlash occurs when our more sensible X-Gens and Millennials take over the voting bloc a decade or so down the road, we will finally have our chance of passing legislation that really helps the common man, things like universal health care, CO2 emissions reduction (if it is not too late), easy access to higher education, better working conditions for women, tolerance for those different than us, and intolerance for bigotry.  And once those things are in place, it will be extremely difficult to revert back, even without the filibuster.  Sometimes we need a little taste of the alternative to get there if that is the only way it is going to happen.

I really need to stop responding to you, with your tendency to find tiny tidbits to latch on without addressing core messages.  But here goes.

So what's the argument? Thus far sounds ageist.

You laughed at my contention that in a decade or so we will see the Gen-Xers and Milenials take over the voting bloc. That's population in the two top pie graphs. Notice how heavy they voted Democrats.

You realize that older people die over the years right?  See the bottom two pie charts?  Notice how heavy they voted Republican.

Soooo...

Over time, the people on the top will continue to vote, while we will see less and less people from the bottom voting.

This means more Democratic sided voters and less Republican sided voters.

Simple conclusion to arrive at really.

I'm merely messing around with you, it's obvious you believe voting Democrat is a sign of intelligence. I just think it's funny because it's not. Likewise with the belief that younger people are smarter voters. It's pretty obvious with the entitled millennials in politics their massive tantrums over something as run-of-the-mill as losing an election.
