Title mistake in Hotel receipt for K1 visa and Skype user name

I am applying K1 visa for my girl friend. We met only once last Dec. 2016. One of our hotel receipts is showing her title as Mr. instead of Ms. But other hotel receipt shows her title correctly and I am certain that I can use it to back up the title error. Should it be fine?

My second question is regarding user name of Skype. We both have different user name other than our real name to protect our privacy. When I downloaded the skype log to show call duration, its showing the user name. Should it be fine if the user name doesnot match real name? I believe the USCIS people are familiar with it :D.

Thanks in advance for your help.

1.  I think the hotel receipt will be OK.

2.  I think the Skye issue could pose a problem.  How would an officer know who was actually participating in the conversation?  I suggest submitting other things like emails, cards, affidavits, etc.

just my opinion......Good Luck in your journey.

thank you for your response my friend. We actually do skype always. So this is going to be a solid proof for me. I think I can take snap shot of the of our profile view where our real name shows as skype name because user name can't be changeable. I hope someone else can give their opinion.

I don't think either of those issues will be.... well, an issue. I'm sure they won't care about the Mr. or Ms. on the hotel receipt. I don't think they will be scrutinizing it to that extent. There are many travel receipts that I provided that didn't even have both of our names on it.

As for the Skype log, also shouldn't be an issue. This was the only form of communication I had between the two of us and was the only thing I submitted. It also downloaded with our usernames and not our real names. If you are unsure about it, you can make a short statement to put on top of the log indicating who is what username. Or you can go all out, like I did, and actually change the usernames on the log to your real names. They didn't question it at all. You also don't have to give them the entire log. If your case is like mine, we had thousands of pages of log. We selected choice conversations throughout the years that we had. We specifically put in conversations about trip planning (to back up the trips that were taken) and immigration planning. Then we added one or two conversations for every couple of months. We personally chose significant moments in our relationship, including a couple of fights we had. We got it down to about 50 pages.

Thank you my friend for this valuable information. We have been chatting for almost 5 years but skype shows history of one year. I am just planning to show the call log with duration. I think I would not show any chat because we had some fights sometimes like every couple do and I don't want it to jeopardize anything. And about our recent trip, wedding plan, etc. we discuss over the phone as it is much easier to communicate instead of typing :D.

The only way you would jeopardize anything is if you submitted some sort of fight the is overly aggressive. But if they are just normal couple spats, then there shouldn't be any shame in showing that you, like you said, "fight sometimes like every couple". Overall, I see no harm in excluding the fights. It was just a personal choice of mine. I would add some of your chat log if there is anything there you are comfortable showing them. If there really is no other form of communication between the two of you, every little bit helps.

We did an IR-1 visa so it's slightly different but I included a string of messages we had a disagreement like any other married couple does - I also included how we resolved it. That, in my opinion, was far more important than pages of "I love you" and other such fluffiness.

Since skype does not make any checks on your identity when you sign up, it doesn't matter what your user name says. I could set up an account using the name Mickey Mouse or Angelina Jolie if I wanted to. There's no proof that even the "real names" on Skype accounts are people's actual legal names.  Skype conversations are secondary evidence anyway so don't lose too much sleep over them.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

I'm assuming you're filling out the 129f. If that is the case;

They specifically want info/proof of in person meeting. the Hotel receipt is great for that. Also include credit card statements and or bank statements putting you together at the same place and time. Passport stamps, I-94's boarding passes, airline tickets.

Now depending on the country and embassy for the interview, the ongoing relationship may or may not become important. Check the regional forum and the embassy reviews to see what to expect on the "ongoing stuff". There may be no reason to front load the application or there might be a better way.

Thank you guys for being so helpful. Fr8Dog -  my girl is from India but she is currently working on Dubai. So her embassy will be in Dubai. I am not sure how strict they are in terms of K1 visa requirements. I guess I need to find out about it from my lawyer.

Check the Dubai reviews and posts. There is plenty of info there. A lot cheaper than a lawyer and personally I think a much more knowledgeable than one when it comes to country specific info.
