Hi Riya! Did you call them right away when scheduling the interview or did you schedule the interview online? I see you had a very quick turnaround. I would love to have the same result.

I called them for packet 4 and they emailed it to me immediately. I scheduled the interview online. I got lucky I guess.

Okay great, thank you! Is packet 4 specific to each case? I found packet 4 mumbai online (https://photos.state.gov/libraries/mumbai/1057584/senkx/BMB IV Packet 4 for Ks January 2015 Revision_001.pdf) and it just seemed kind of like a generic checklist.

A similar checklist was also emailed to us when we received notice that our petition was "In Transit".

Yea you need packet 4. When you book for medical, they’ll ask for appointment letter. I emailed them once my status changed to “Ready” and they sent me packet 4 via email. It also came by post two weeks later but you can start consolidating documents as per the check list. It’s same for everyone.

My finance is not able to find any dates in Mumbai. She has tried multiple times. When called US travel docs, they say that slots open up and you have to keep an eye. Irony is that if you attempt to set interview dates multiple times, it will lock your account for 24-72 hours :(

Does anyone has the same experience?

Hi,

Did you get the dates? And has anyone cleared the interview already?

Hi guys, I just scheduled my date and it is in mid-May. Why is it that far out? Is there any way to reschedule and obtain an earlier date?

Hi Gary

Sadly there are no earlier dates available. Rescheduling can be done but my suggestion is call the helpline and talk to them they guide you well. You get five chances to do it but again you cannot keep going back and forth on the same page or else it gets locked for 24hours! But one cannot be sure that you would get an earlier date.

Oh don’t worry about the biometric date! I have confirmed one can have a 1-1.5 month gap between OFC and interview with the embassy call centre.

what is the earliest date shown on the screen as you login? Check that first

and select a nearest date for biometric as against available date and book it.

if the earliest date shown is of late April or May wait for a day or two, keep checking by just logging in as the date keeps changing. Do not open that schedule my appointment page as it gets locked if you do it multiple times. The moment you see a closer date book it.
