Did you request a name change? If yes then it takes some time. Here in Dallas there is at least 3 months of waiting period. I had my interview on 04/11 and have been waiting since then.

Just had interview today, very smooth and fast. However, I totally forgot about the passport photo and have to rush to the dr next block to take two and then went back to submit my photo.
Overall experience is nice. The Lady who interviewed me is well-manner, i was a bit nervous though

@chungwai79 oh they asked for passport photo? i didnt know that, i thought it was optional, did you have your interview at Federal Plaza? I have my interview on Wednesday ....

I've my interview at Newark, NJ end of the month. The interview letter didn't mention anything about passport photo. Can someone please advise what documents they will ask for?

I tried to update the table but the formatting was way off.

 

I got a notice on May 31 that my N-400 interview date is July 12.  If someone updates on the next go around, I would appreciate it.  I am an N400/i751 combo case.

 

Edit: I did not receive a letter saying I was in line for interview.

Hello ,  

I had my interview on 06/08 ..it was very smooth ...

The officer was so nice and striaght fowrad reaviewd my application asked me six questions and the wrighting test and reading ...

Passed everything ...and today a had an update that my ceromony paper is going to be send .:jest:

My journey almost ..thank u eveybody 

And i hop it goes faster for everybody

I interviewed at Federal Plaza in NY and no passport photo was needed. The officer took a picture of me there.

My case was finally approved and my oath will be held at Pearl Street next week.

Does anybody have experiences to share in regards of applying for a passport on the day of the oath? I need to travel overseas soon after the oath and am wondering if I should just apply for a passport at a consulate overseas or wait an extra day to get it done here if it can be that fast.

It's optional but as well better to have just in case if your picture that was submitted with your application was not satisfactory. So yes do carry everything never know what will act like a blocker for your dream. Just carry everything that you think might make an impact during your interview just in case. 2 cents.

To you all.

 

I didn't send my photo with my application since i read the n400 document checklist and i think the photo is only need if you currently reside out us.

Anyway, they took a picture of me when i did the fingerprinting and the officer who interviewed me also took a photo of me.

The thing is, I think they already know most of the stuff about the applicant, like the reason why i have  used 3 names in the past 20 years. I did bring 10 years of tax document but the officer only ask about my green card and passport, err and the selective services document.

The thing is, I think they already know most of the stuff about the applicant, like the reason why i have  used 3 names in the past 20 years. I did bring 10 years of tax document but the officer only ask about my green card and passport, err and the selective services document.

 

 

Guys what's the proof for selective service? I don't recall anything about it. Appreciate any help!

Also, I see people are taking tax returns to the interview. The interview letter didn't state that as an item to bring with you. So is it needed..?

Actually I have received two pieces of paper in the letter from USCIS and one of them states that you should bring all document that can help your case.

Anyway, I did bring the tax document for the past 10 years but the officer never asked for it.

My case is a little complicated since I have 4 names

1 name on the green card (chinese name only)

2 name on the social security card (mix with chinese and english name but in the wrong order)

3 name for my credit card, tax, and school (english name)

4 name on my hong kong passport (mix with chinese and english name in the right order)

I suspect that's why i have been waiting for such a long period of time for interview.

I explain my case to the officer and i said there might be a mix up when i entered US back in 1997 and i thought the customs officer did not input my name correctly. But then she point out the customs officer input the name according to the birth certificate , not the passport.

Anyway, everything is sorted out and I also have my name changed in the process.
