my K1 visa experience was an eye opener. I want to use this opportunity to thank VJ for creating this website and to also thank everyone that took time out of their precious time to post or write about their K1 experience. I'll encourage every K1 applicant be it petitioner or beneficiary to consult VJ before submitting your first application which is the I-129f application form. submitting your application and later consulting or asking questions would be late and in some cases it would be too late because you have already made the wrong move by submitting wrong information.

my experience made me concluded that the best time to file in a K1 visa is winter season to be precise November or December. filing in winter season is faster and straight forward and that was what happened to me. my application until visa process was straight forward and most importantly we did all our research and made sure everything was in place.

 

filed the I-129F Dec. 13th 2016

got our first NOA Dec 17th.2016 that our application is with them and they are working on it.

Second NOA came March 15, 2017 saying that our application is approved and  sent to NVC and they will correspond with us when our document is sent to the embassy in Nigeria.

we had a little problem because the embassy sent a notification mail to the wrong email address, but according to them the notification from NVC to US embassy in Nigeria was done 30th of March 2017.

After waiting for a while I contacted NVC and then I knew why we didn't hear from the embassy. I wrote a mail to them and they responded advising on the next steps to take to apply for the visa.

we did everything required of us and VJ was our big help because that is where we got all our information from. thanks to you VJ, if NOT FOR YOUR HELP IT WOULD BE REALLY HARD ON US.

ONE IMPORTANT QUESTION that is peculiar to every K1 case is HOW DID YOU MEET YOUR FIANCE(E). EVERY k1 BENEFICIARY SHOULD PRACTISE AND MASTER THIS QUESTION.

WE GOT THE VISA AND WAS HAPPY.
