Hello there,

I came to the USA from Canada on a K1 Visa and have been here since the beginning of January of this year. We sent in our adjustment of status package after getting married and I received my NOA1 on February 23rd for the EAD (which was included in the AOS).

It's now June 2nd and there's STILL been no update on the USCIS website case status. My NOA1 didn't have any instructions included, it was just your run of the mill NOA1 so why is it taking so long to be processed/approved? It's been over 3 months.

Anyone have suggestions or going through the same thing?

Thanks!

Apparently there is a bit of a backlog at the moment.  A lot of applications for citizenship were being pushed through last year causing the backlog for this.  It's not unheard of unfortunately for a k1 to get their EAD not long before their greencard

It's hard to say why it is taking so long. For instance, we just received our combo EAD/AP card and it's right on the 90ish day mark; but there are people who have been taking around 120 days. Same as with the I-129f petition, depends who is reviewing it, their workload, did it get pushed to the bottom of the pile accidentally,..

You are on the long term waiting range though now, I definately would inquire by giving them a call.

Just chiming in, it  took us 127 days to get our EAD approved. Things that you can do:

Other than that, there is not much you can do but to wait it out. Unfortunately, in my personal experience, because their processing times on their website state December 30th, 2016, that's all they are going to say back to you :( I did all of the above and I'm not sure if it really helped move along our EAD request. The approval felt quit random and we feel very lucky that it went through. Best of luck to you!
