Congrats!!! We have similar dates.

1st Scan Date: March 29

Second Scan Date : June 7th.

How did you find out about CC? Did you get a notification? Did your status change at CEAC after the second scan date?

Yea we do. What's document were u missing?

When they first completed my review everything was there expect for my translated marriage certificate. I sent the translated marriage registration certificate which was not acceptable.

I call NVC on July 24th jus to see if any changes or any updates if they need anything else since we were at week 7 and I saw for my embassy they have been completing cases in 7-9 weeks. So when I called the first things they told me was that they completed my case that day n sent to embassy for interview date.

And also if u login at ceac website u will notice the AOS fee part is not there any more which means ure case is complete. When I got my 2nd scan date there was no change on the website. N jus received an email for my checklist

They said my birth certificate was missing. Which it was already sent the first time. I guess they lost it.

Congrats again !!

Thanks again to my VJ family. You guys are the best.

Wow! That's great news! Since the 18th?? They should be done soon I hope 🤗

LET'S CALL THE NVC! You should keep calling until someone confirms that you're either in the review department or under review.

My hubby called to ask if they go by scan dates, the rep said he doesn't know 😩.

Praying 🙏

I did call this morning as soon as they opened and nothing yet-I have no idea how they process these cases-doesn't seem to be any particular order at allllll

I'm praying too!

There is an order, processing times are based on your country.. Not everyone is trained in every language/country.. So this is why you'll have some cases getting completed in 7-8 weeks (UK) or 9.43 weeks for Nigeria..

Hi Roor, I do not advise people to call before 9 weeks.. I've been trying to tell people this for some time now. Being under review doesn't mean anything as some people are in there for 1-2 days whereas other 30+ days..  There is nothing the NVC can do before 11 weeks to speed up your case, calling in doesn't make them work faster.. Only way to speed up processing time is to get an expedited request which then the NVC transfers your case to the embassy to process...

Wish you both luck. :)

If you send an email to nvc that take about a month to reply. That's what happened with mine.

Where does the petitioner live? Ask them to contact their county's congressmen and have them call nvc on your behalf and request to Expedite. U will get a faster response from them.

I am the petitioner, and I am living with my husband in his country, Uganda. So if I call, which option do I select on the phone menu? Thanks for the info. We appreciate it.

Hey, this is the right email. You've to use it as it is, it's NVCExpedite@state.gov

We sent in couple times. First time the NVC sent an email saying the request is under review after 46 hours. And then one day later they emailed us the embassy's denial. The second time the NVC didn't say it was under review but the reply came in after 4 days with again a denial. Ours wasn't for medical reasons, they accept expedite requests for medical reasons more. Also, it depends on the embassy (they decide to take the case or not).

Hope this was helpful, best of luck!

Hi Roor,

Thank you so much for the information. I am sorry that your expedite requests were not approved.

Fortunately, we got an email this morning, letting us know that our request is under review. We will let you all know the decision they make, and the details we sent in if they do approve it so that future applicants know what might help their case.

Good luck for the rest of your journey.

My husband is worried that if they do not approve our expedite it will have some negative effect on our whole case. Is this possible? I hope not, as I don't think they are allowed to discriminate like that and as long as our relationship is found to be 100% solid, there isn't anything that can cause them to deny him. Especially not because we requested for a genuine medical expedite. However, I think if more members can give their opinion, it might calm him down a bit. He is really worried.

Thanks in advance. And CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who has recently gotten a CC! We are so happy for you all!

Blame it on early mornings hype! I have read that in your post, people stay in review for 1-4 days or up to a month. There are basically 0 info in my case, Sudan I mean..so Egypt is the closest thing  to compare and still they're way more backlogged than in Sudan.

And I wasn't advising at all, it was mere a suggestion since the NVC got to the 9th already. Thank you so much for looking out us!

Stay blessed.

Hi, maybe in general there aren't a lot of cases from Sudan, this could work in your favor getting you a CC under 9 weeks. But I still advise to not call before 9 weeks. ;)  But i def advise in checking your online status starting from 8 weeks..

Wishing you luck!!

ps. sucks you don't have any other cases from Sudan on our spreadsheet.. But maybe you can find someone on VJ's timeline... Here's a link for you to check out with all the cases from Sudan here on VJ. :)
