I'm hoping there is someone who could help me with a slight issue I am facing. On April 24, 2017, my I-765 Employment Authorization (based on C(9) eligibility) and I-131 Advance Parole was approved, and I got the approval notice in the mail on April 27, 2017. On April 28, 2017, I got an email saying that my card was mailed to me. As of today, June 2, 2017, I have still not received my EAD Card with the Advance Parole notice. I submitted an inquiry last week, but my fear is that the card was lost in the mail. I was never given a tracking number and the case status has not changed since April 28 to indicate that it was delivered. My name is on my mail box.

My current work authorization (based on F-1 OPT eligibility) expires on June 12, 2017, but I have my green card interview here in Boston on June 6. If I don't get my EAD Card by June 6 (which I am thinking I won't), will they give me a temporary EAD or approval stamp in my passport that will mean there is no "gap" between receiving my green card (which, I hope I am approved on June 6), and the expiration of my current work authorization on June 12?

Any help for people who have had the AOS / Green Card interview and know what the procedure is for work authorization and travel thereafter would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance :)

Ask neighbours or call the post office. Fail in that and try calling the USCIS customer service line.

Hope you get it sorted!

I have heard several stories like this on here and believe they get lost (read stolen) from time to time - which is just awful (I guess sometimes they could be actually lost lol). In any case, if you get approved at your interview ask them then and there if they can stamp your passport (i-551 stamp) right there since you will be needing it for work.

Thanks! We were approved on the spot in the interview :) I asked the interview officer about getting a temporary EAD (I forgot that it was called I-551) and he didn't seem very concerned... Just told me that I'd have a physical green card in my hands in a few days so don't need to worry about an EAD. I'm surprised that he wasn't more concerned if what you say about them getting stolen is true!!! :s

I mean there are thousands and thousands of them made... I'm sure percentage wise it isn't a "problem"... and out of the ones that do get stolen, an even smaller amount are probably reported as such. BUT, for the individual, it'll be a big problem ofc...

And you are right,  from previous posters it is obvious that they don't care about it.

I'm sure you will get your card just fine! :)

I just wish they would give the tracking number for the envelope when they send the notification that it was sent... But all is well that ends well. :)
