US visa refusal

Iam really hoping somebody on here can help,my husband had a visa interview ,he was told he needed medical ,which he had ,we then got a email to send his passport in for visa issue ,passport came back ,with no visa ,letter saying refused Under  section 212a/1 medical ineligibity,this stands until further medical assessment.but does not say how to go about this, letter also says denied under section 214b does not show strong ties out side us, he is British ,with job,family and home ,I've tried for two days to get to talk to a human being at embassy but cannot ,I don't no were to go from here ,

Why on earth did he apply for a b2 if he has vwp eligibility?

What visa did you apply for? We need more information. A medical isn't needed for a tourist visa.

Yes it is ,because he had a drink driving ban,and that's what they do now

Not saying this is the case here,  but a tourist visa applicant can be sent to the panel physician for DUI or drug issues.

I didn't actually know that. That sounds like this is the case then.

 

Still, why would a citizen of the UK apply for a B-1 when there is the VWP? Something doesn't add up.

You also said he was refused under 214(b) for lack of ties. So I think this is the reason the visa was finally refused.

You have to apply for visa when u have crim record

Well, when a tourist visa is refused there is little you can do. Calling the Embassy or talking to someone there won't change anything.
