Hello everybody, it's me, again. 🙈

Unfortunately I have lost my vaccination records so I read on here and on the internet which vaccinations are actually required but I'm lost and don't really understand.

FYI we filed for a K1 visa, already received our NOA2 and I am preparing for consular and medical now.

Please can anybody explain what is actually needed?

You only need those vaccinations that are considered age appropriate. Generally, if you're over 18 and born after 1957, that means MMR, Td/Tdap, and varicella. The CDC has a useful table showing what's needed for various age groups.

The panel physician at my medical exam only looked at DTP and MMR. Those two have to be up-to-date so if it has been 10 years or longer since DTP or MMR, get a booster at your local doc office. It's cheaper to do so, too.

The place you have to have your medical in usually knows what you need to do. If you don't have any records, they'll just give you new shots for it, so you really don't have to worry about it. Just tell the people at the place that you don't have your records any more and you can get those new shots on the same day as your medical.

They'll charge you a small fortune to get shots done at the medical. At least in europe, it's much cheaper to get them ahead of time from your own doctor.

It depends on where you go, I suppose. I didn't think it cost too much, getting it done at the medical place. It was definitely something affordable here in Cambodia.

I trusted them to do it because they know exactly what is needed for the immigrant/US Visa.

I can't speak to Cambodia, but in Europe, vaccinations are essentially free (i.e. covered by standard health insurance). Panel physicians in Europe will charge for vaccinations and aren't covered by insurance. It may only be a few hundred euro, but it's a cost that's easy to avoid.

European healthcare will not cover vaccine boosters for immigration purpose but it's still 10-15 euros to get one. The panel physician will charge about 35 euros

Hi! The doctor who does the medical in frankfurt has a chart on their website with the shots you need (look at only the ones in your age group)

I went to my doctor too before the medical and got up to date. they were covered by health insurance. You should probably speak to your docter too as it would be a lot to get them all at once.

Closely related to this:

When getting your medical done, please make sure you get a copy of the DS-3025 and make sure it is marked as completed. You will want to include a copy of this form in your AOS package after your marriage.

The form, if filled out correctly, can be used as proof of having met the vaccination requirements. Getting it now is a lot easier than once you are in the USA
