Moscow embassy processing times

Hey There!

 

Do any of you guys know how long you have to wait for the interview at Moscow Embassy? We're doing K1 so when I looked on the website It has only the processing  times for non-immigrant visas which is really long! It says 42 days for b1/b2 and 55 days for all other non immigrant visas. I'm wondering if it takes longer than that for K1...

Not sure if this is relevant but K-1's are considered non-immigrant visas. How far along are you in the process? Have you gone through the NVC yet?

Hey! We're still waiting for NVC to get our petition. I know it's too early to think about the interview but I'm just worried that the wait is gonna be too long and our petition is gonna expire or smth...I mean 55 days is a long time...and it's been more than 2 weeks since our approval btw.  

 

Speaking of k1 being a non-immigrant visa. I'm aware of that, however on the website it says this: The All Other Nonimmigrant Visa wait time DOES NOT include K or V visa applications, which are processed similar to immigrant visas.  A, G, and NATO applications are excluded from these wait times, as they are processed separately.

OK, yeah, I figured K-1's were treated differently. Have you checked Russian K-1 timelines here on VJ? That might be an indicator as to how long it takes. I'm guessing since K-1's involve the NVC this is why they don't put on estimate on the Embassy website.

I remember when Katya had her K1 interview it was treated more like an immigrant visa.  I know technically it is not, but it is sort of an in between category as if all goes well, it leads very quickly (relatively speaking) to an LPR.  When we checked in for her interview, they sent us up to the same window (Window 5 I think) which is also where they were doing all the other immigrant visas.

I am wondering about this too. I should have my NOA2 in the next couple weeks and I want to schedule the interview in Moscow asap. I checked the embassy site as well and it doesn't appear to give any info on K1 wait times for an interview. Hopefully someone with more info can let us know.

We scheduled ours  The earliest as of now is July 11th

Congrats! How long did it take between NOA2 and scheduling your interview?

#Brava - curious about how you were able to setup interview?  From what I understand, the embassy will send email notifying you to setup medical and interview?  And everything is done online?  No packets sent in mail?

As far as I know (since I did it for B2 interview recently) you can set your interview date as soon as a case # is assigned - its all done online.
