My wife is a Singapore national and we are preparing to file our I-751 for removal of conditions (her conditional green card expires late August 2017). Her Singapore passport is expiring soon however and so we need to renew it. Will renewing the passport (and having her married name added to it) which would change her passport number impact the I-751 application in any way? Would getting a renewed passport affect her ability to use her green card in any way (i.e. Is the gc tied to her passport number?)

thank you for the help!

The GC is not tied to the GC, however, some embassy's need a proof of name change on an official proof of identity (like GC). Does she have a driver's license? I'll check with them if that's accepted.

I'm going through the same issue with my Brazilian Passport. In my case, my GC had the wrong name on it and they never corrected, so I've been patiently waiting for over a year for my new GC to come so I can renew my passport.

Good Luck!
